The alcohol law is a bit of a touchy subject, surely they wouldn't their morals just for a footy tournament ?

Naaah! It's only 28°C in June/July.......... AT NIGHT! Eek

It's more like 40-45°C (that's 105-115°F for us old 'uns) during the day.

RE: Qatar World Cup Question.

Aye, the middle east isn't the place to be in the summer. I was in Dubai a few years ago and it rarely got below 40. Even at night.

Drinks laws wise - you can drink in bars which are in the hotels. These countries are a lot more accustomed to western culture than you might think.

RE: Qatar World Cup Question.

That's insane so either teams spend a month without their best players or the PL won't start until October.

Pillocks.

RE: Qatar World Cup Question.

They wont start the prem league in Oct cause its down to the sheer number of games and cup comps.

Plus when they do start it be all kids and 2nd team cause most of the prem players are internationals. and prob be in the world cup..

RE: Qatar World Cup Question.

Mrs Fop just got back from Qatar a week or so ago, and a fascinating fact she learned was the Qataris don't have to work.

It's the richest nation on earth, and the Qatari king pays each Qatari-born family the equivalent of £100,000 a year for having the good grace to be born in Qatar. Some of them work out of sheer boredom.

RE: Qatar World Cup Question.

I wonder who bribed FIFA the most out of Russia or Qatar. I really hope the NOTW has more dirt on these old corrupt fuckers just to piss FIFA off.

And i hope Blatter has a heart-attack and the ambulance services revive him only for them to realise who he is then they punch him in the chest to kill the old bastard.

Wooftering is prohibited in Qatar, which should negate the chances of ******* appearing if England qualify Wink

As for the Prem and it's starting time, there'll be a European Super League up and running by then anyway, and the 'Prem' will be a different beast altogether.

In Qatar they're called citizens, here they're called the Royal Family.

Fop is it true that only certain hotels have a licence to sell beer and that it's banned from drinking in public ala Dubai

if so then that could be fun when the WC rolls into town
