Aye but needs must and all that. Would far rather Barton sit in there next week than risk playing Smith there.

Smith was appalling yesterday. If he does plY we will be lucky to draw. I felt a little bit confident with Tiote in the team but without him - not so sure

It shouldn't be like that though. If they all put a shift in like Tiote we'd be flying!

Its not just about a shift though.

Tiote is a genuinely good footballer. Not just effective like Cattermole or one of the other lumps (of which there are many) that play Tiotes so called role.

The lad can pass, move, break up play, reasonably quick, strong like bull, and a great engine. He often has a pop at goal from range too (albeit in vein so far).

I really think once he gets used to our game and stops being caught in possession or making too risky a pass in our own area he will be one of the best in the league at sitting in deep.

His work ethic and reading of the game are top notch. For someone we didn't really know about, he has certainly proved his worth. Let's hope he stays and doesn't get blind sided by the other "big" clubs.

N Onuoha Hamstring Injury 16th Jan 11
So he could be back?

J Mensah Ankle/Foot Injury 16th Jan 11
Never plays does he?

M Turner Knee Injury 26th Feb 11
Has he played this season?

T Carson Shoulder Injury no return date
who is this? Is he even a mackem player?

M Kilgallon Back Injury no return date
Didnt know he still played for them. I thought theyd sold him?

A Reid Hamstring Injury no return date
Has he played for them this season? thought he was sold or on loan?

F Campbell ACL Knee Injury May 11
Never played this season has he? I thought he was crocked at the end of last season?

So yes Tiote wont be playing, probably Carroll too, but they have a fair few first team players out too.

So all in, it looks a whole lot worse for us now.
Id snap their hand off for a draw.
