Exactly. It'll be a struggle and bad to watch, that's why I say the main thing is survival. We can't go down again.

On what basis?

Was Keegan good enough for the PL when he got us promoted...even without the experience or whatever?

What about his other signings, that have actually been good. Or do we just ignore them? Rolleyes

As for the squad not being good enough, what makes teams like Wolves and Stoke better than us? On paper they have poor squads. We had a class squad when we went down. You can't just look at the team and say it isn't good enough, because that completely underestimates the difference a good team spirit and determination can have on a season.

Fulham in the semi finals of Europe, with that squad? Birmingham in the top half?

There's no reason at all why we can't stay up.

But thats where we are??? why do people think we should be somewhere we aint! yes i would like to be a top 4/6 team but jimmy pal we are a million miles away from that and i willl not lie i have enjoyed my football this year, if people want to support a top 4 team every year then follow someone else, yes we may get there one day again but i will enjoy this ride until it happens, i support my team wherever they play simple as that!

dunf ya clutz you missed my point and if you had read earlier thread you would have understood it a little more clearly , I have enjoyed newcastle this season as I have done every season since 1964 and yes like you would support them through thick and thin no atter , however comma pause for effect its hardly been our best season or have you only been supporting newcastle in recent years !!!

There's a lot of conjecture on here about what will happen, Hughton will be sacked after 7 games, 1 game, Laws will arrive etc etc, the fact is, nobody knows. I have my doubts that Hughton will be given a bucketload of cash to spend, but we'll see. Ashley always does the unexpected. Whilst he deserves a chance, I just keep thinking Roeder and before him Dinnis, is he a 1 season wonder? Good luck to him, because if he thought there was pressure to get us back, it's multiplied many times to keep us up. Another relegation next season, and there's no conjecture, it will be a financial disaster.
