Thing is m8 the ones who dont really mind Ashley aslong as the club doesnt go pop are going to be gutted more than the rest of us if we get relegated. Also and he will have their 10 year ST money well at least a 1 year rolling ST thing.

You said 'Ashley' without saying 'cunt' clearly you are in his thrall, and probably pay, therefore I sentence you to 100 years pennace until you learn the error of your ways, or until we get an owner with integrity, whichever comes first.

Ashley is a one man football club wrecking ball.

Max 10m will be spend In the summer.
Pardews scouting matches in the SPL and the championship.
He's already said he wants to sign a league 1 player in puncheon.

Graham Carrs probably on the phone to his son right now trying to negotiate a deal for him to join.

Hehehe - What I mean is the spend is actually irrelevant, it's what comes in that counts.

Albert Luque springs to mind!

Aye Shearer was a fantastic signing, but he is genuinely a good player. For every Shearer there are probably 5 big money flops and wasters for us over the last 10 years.

What am saying is money spent isnt the success indicator and I couldnt give a monkeys ball bag how much we spend so long as we bring in enough good players.

Sal money isn't always a success indicator but generally it is.

If you have 35m to spend or £10m chances are with 35 million you are going to bring In more and better players than you are with 10m.

Common sense man.

Yeah and for every Tiote at £3M or so there`s fucking 20 Perches etc. Spend £3M on players and 99 times out of 100 they are not up to it.

Ah fucking hell man, I have never said I think cheap players are mint or better than expensive ones or that Williamson for £1mil is better than Nesta at his best.

Am saying (and have done a million times and counting) we have spunked big money on big players in the past and ended up with a crazy wage bill and a heartless team.

Forget the cash and see who we get FFS!

Gavilan

Could list another 30 players there like bought for 3m or so.

£££ buys quality.

Aye just like you can list as many big money flops who are far harder to get rid of mate.

Wait and see and enough of the 'we will spend fuck all and be shit' line, it means fuck all because no one knows who is coming in.

Depends on who's doing the spending. Manuel spent shitloads at the red dippers, and it was downhill (largely) all the way, after the inherited team won him the champs league.

RE: Michael Ashley

If you want genuine proven quality you need to spend money. You need a good manager who you can trust to spend that money wisely. When we spent badly, it was because we tended to back the wrong managers (although God bless him, Sir Bobby did waste a fair bit of cash on rubbish). Shearer was never a gamble because KK knew he was class, Luque was a gamble because he had never played in the Premiership before, but then neither had Ginola. The point I'm trying to make is, if you are going to back a manager with cash, he must be a manager who is capable of spotting a good player. We seem to be placing a lot of faith in Graham Carr...if he's that good at spotting players then back him with the AC cash.

RE: Michael Ashley

Ashley doesn't want quality.
He wants to buy young cheap players and sell them at a profit.
Still not quite sure how this supposed arsenal model will work.

It's one thing saying yeah 'let's copy arsenal'
Another thing sacking your manager every year.
And Spending peanuts on the team.

Yup. Even Taggart bought a few pups in his time (Djemba Djemba for one), so it still isn't an exact science. Problem is that the market is so inflated now with citeh's cash, that even bog standard wingers like Ashley Young at Villa are being quoted 20-25 mil for christs sake.
As for 20 mil for Gary Cahill - give me strength.
