Kevin Keegan (breathe in NE1)

The sooner KK is forgotten at this club, the sooner we move forward.

No doubt he was a good manager but he was a manager for 5 years that brought us exciting football but fuck all else. He threw his teddies out of the cot and had SJH begging him to come back to the club. "Here you are Kev, do this, do that". Yes we were close to the league title, but Man U were closer.

Daglish & Gullit took us to Wembley 2 years on the bounce for the FA Cup Final, and we hate them (cunts). SBR and even Sourness took us to the semi-final of the cup and we fucking detest one of them!!

I won’t ever forget the nights KK brought us, Grimsby & Villa and the players he brought in, Cole, Ginola, Lee, Venison etc. Players that wanted to play for the club not work out the fucking tax bill.

Yes, KK brought us excitement, but he brought us despair to go along with it. We can sit here now.... 20 years later wondering what could have been. The club is now in transition, some on here dismiss this because it doesn’t come with the caveat of "spending millions".

Ashley is never gonna be a crowd favorite, although in the history of NUFC nobody has put more money into the club. We choose to pick the home favorites for what they have done for the club. We remember Freddie Shepherd, and his millions. We remember SJH and his millions.

You hear it everywhere, on the forums, in the pubs & at the ground. Ashley is raping the fans and club of money. This would be true, but the bloke has never taken a penny out of the club. Somewhere inside of me & football I hear a quote from Sir Matt Busby……

Speaking of that title chasing season I was thinking the other day the main culprit was Gerald Ashby. After that disgraceful Arsenal game Ginola was never the same player.

RE: Kevin Keegan (breathe in NE1)

Agreed totally, dont think we are hanging onto the ghost of kk as such we are a million miles away from that era.

Yes we had dispare and disappointment during the end of his reign but I myself dont really think about that anymore. I only remember kk as the old school player who came in and built a little squad of players who WANTED to play for each other, wanted to make this club the size it was and should of always been.

I agree some fans probably do hang onto those years too much, if i'm honest i'm one of them in a way.

Kk was a special man to this club, still is. He succeeded by being clued up enough to feel what this club meant to us and eventually to him. Like he said on his return 'i know this place, I feel what they feel, the religion'

Nobody else would of ever said words like that. Apart from maybe Shearer.

I dont think he could ever make the same impact in management as he did before simply because players dont really care anymore. They get mega bucks for being pretty mediocre. Kk brought the best out of players he brought in. So hard to do now.

I wont hold on to kevin Keegan but saying that i'll never ever forget.

I don't think anyone is crying out for keegan to return.
Maybe jinky.......
I think though if he comments on mike Ashley is worth talking about on here.
And surely it is.
Keegan will never come back under fatty.
That's perfectly clear.

Nobody will or can JJ

I am amazed at the total lack of respect the man has been shown, he breathed new life into the club twice as a player, then a manager.

A total lack of respect, a fucking disgrace

Lived it, breathed it, still clutching onto it.

Anyone who was there will never forget the complete rollercoaster that period was.

So many highs & the odd lows.

Never forget how gutted I was coming away from the Valley when the news was breaking KK had quit

I dont have any problem with what KK says

i find what he has said this week honest and candid.

Football is full of people who sit on the fence, hedge their bets and basically say nothing

and id have him back at this club in a instance, one of the very few people who actually understand us

How's it being fickle Vianna?
The blokes had two opportunities at the club. First time around aye it was great but that's the past.
Time to move on.

I dont think anyone is suggesting that Pardew is a better manager than Keegan: so why are you all upset about it? The comment is that he is in the past. And, unfortunately, he is.

Clearly they were the best days in a lifetime: only his time here as a player comes close for the sherr joy of being a fan of this club. But why rerun old and meaningless arguments?

What amazes me is, we as fans feel we have the right to talk all things Shite regarding NUFC, yet a man who gave up a good part of his working life trying to achieve the very best for NUFC get hammered..!!!

Keegan tells it like it is... ( Gets Slated )

Shearer sits on the fence ( Gets Slated )

You couldn't make it up..

RE: Kevin Keegan (breathe in NE1)

It's difficult not to go on the defensive when someone is having a dig at your club...

Keegans comments the other day were unnecessary unless he knows for absolute certain that Tiote is away and even then he should be mindful of how the fans will react.

Keegan for me will always be remembered for what he has done at this club over the years...great player and great manager but I've never been into the whole over the top hero worship of certain individuals. Individuals, both good and bad will come and go but the club is the only thing that is truly important to me

Thanks and all that Kev but if you can't tell us anything about Ashley that we don't already know, I don't want to hear it
