Free transfer. Not sure how I feel about this.

We seem to have an abundance of average, maybe not premier league strikers as it is.

Im not impressed if he is going to be on his back

We have had more than enough players who spent most of their time there

I'm not sure.........It depends which way you look at I suppose

If we were to sell Shola for a couple of million and get Harewood in on a free I think that would be decent business............It wouldn't be such a good idea if we are looking at Harewood as an addition to what we already have though

I'd rather keep Shola as well, for some inexplicable reason, he keeps cropping up with timely goals.

Shola is better than Harewood.

But we need a proven goalscorer in the Prem. Who's that Bent bloke plays for the Mackems? Buy him.

Robbie Keane is a proven striker, and if he's only on loan at Celtic, maybe we could nick him off Spurs?

And, a massive link to make this seem slightly possible...Hughton will know him from his time at Spurs.

I've always rated Keane as a goal scorer, but I can't imagine Ashley signing off on the wages he'd demand at this stage in his career. Even though has almost certainly 'Supported us since he was a little lad, and always dreamed on pulling on the famous *Agent whispers in ear* Black and White shirt'.

If Ashley won't sanction the wages for a decent striker we will be relegated.
And if he is going to follow this path over wages I presume that means Colo, Smith, Barton, Jonas are all going to be sold in the summer?

There is a difference between ruining a club with an unsustainable wage bill and not being prepared to pay the going rate.

If Ashley thinks he can get away with paying Championship wages then that is precisely where the club will end up.

£25,000 per week is not championship wages, it's lower premier league. But it is very much lower, scrapping-for-relegation premier league.

It would appear Ashley's assault on the premier league is based on the 19 teams above us going bust before the end of the season. Not my idea of a glorious campaign.

The one's you mentioned Ashley was basically stuck with. Through a mixture of them not wanting take a pay cut and go elsewhere, and Ashley realising that we had to have some semblance of team spirit and experience to get us back up. I would pay decent wages to a decent striker, as would all of our future opponents, the trick is getting one. I just don't see Ashley paying Keane his current wages, when for all intents and purposes, his best days are behind him.

We won't be selling the likes of Colo, Jonas, Jose etc. Unless of course a silly money bid comes in (i.e. £20million...then it would be silly not to consider).

I would rather have Shola than Harecunt, but I don't think he was that bad. He's decent backup, but then maybe we have enough backup as it is as I'm not sure I'd trust the current crop to bang in 20 goals next year.
