Quality player who looks to have developed his well game well since getting out of a poor NUFC team.

And perhaps if he had better quality coaching and management he may have been better here. To be fair he did seem to have fuck all end product at NUFC.

Fair play to young Jimmy, he has come on leaps and bounds since getting away from our joke of a set up.

He is a grafter with the right attitude on and off the field.

When we sold him, all comments of him producing very little were justified, and £12mil seemed like a big overpayment.

Since then he has developed into a much more productive sort and his price tag appears justified.

I dont know why you (Viana) say things like 'people on here' as though such folks are somehow proved wrong or whatever, people comment on what they see, and James Milner, while he always tried, was not doing the business at NUFC.

Milner has been involved with more goals than any other premiership midfielder this season.

Including fabregas gerrard and lampard

gash?

A few goals chipped in too.

But to be fair, thats the least you expect from £10mil+ attacking players.

The facts are that he never had anywhere near that impact with us, be it his fault or ours.

Perhaps that could just mean that Villa are one dimensional?

Still doesn't change that he needed to leave NUFC to make something of his career as we were were such a dog shit outfit. Which is a very sad state of affairs. Can't see him stepping up and becoming an England regular in a particular position, but can see him getting in the squad due to his versatility

regardless of how he's played this season, taking into account what he had produced for us when he left, 12 mill was a good deal. he'd been given a fair deal of time as well. i did like him but i wouldn;t have turned down that much money (this of course is ignoring the fact that our fat cunt owner didn't give it to KK)

Excatly.

Had KK been given the coin to go and get a replacement, I have no doubt we would have ended up with a far better player.

Doesnt make him great either, in fact, it suggests he was / is average.

So despite being only 23 picked for his country and being involved in the most prem league goals this season for a midfielder he is average?

Hmmm don't quite understand that myself.

Although he was supposed to have been trying to sign Arshavin for usSmile

Not sure I'm following Viana's argument. If Milner was such a top class player then why wasn't he getting a sniff for England whilst at NUFC? I'm guessing it was because he was average. He was a mainstay of the U21s whereas any other player his age, who was top class, would be straight into the full squad.

Milner's game has come on loads and so he's getting a crack in the England squad. Had he stayed with us I very much doubt he would be and doubt that he'd have been able to improve his game player under the crappy management we have had.

Had KK been allowed to keep him, he would have turned him into another Rob Lee for us.
His current form is yet another indication of an almighty Ashley/Llambias/Wise cock up.
Fuck off you cunts and let KK come back!

He's always had the ability to crack in a goal like that. When we lost 5-1 to Birmingham he did it with his left (I think) and against Man United, when Edgar scored, Milner scored a cracker then aswell, this time with his right.

His work rate can never be faulted.

He's not the fastest for a winger, but he can beat his man and his stamina makes up for the "lack" of pace because he can get up and down the wing all day and when others are tiring he's a good outlet on the wing.

Seems he had the attributes to make a top class winger.

But no, his crossing was the thing that let him down with us. We've had Solano and Robert in teams before Milner, and their delivery was noticeably absent in the teams that followed their departure, including teams with Milner in them.

Crossing is vital for a winger, so if he doesn't improve that, he'll never be world class. Although I would definitely welcome him back here.

I haven't seen him play for Villa, so I've no idea if he has improved the crossing side of his game, but he does look like he's having a good season.

Ffs give the lad some credit, he is playing really well for villa and looks to be improving all the time, it makes it worse that we let him go and have not had the chance to see the best of him, still most of you lot on here were slagging him and were happy with the 12 million but I think we let a little gem go.

Oh and look at the superstars we bought with the money.
