Harper for England

Good Shout Better than JAMES ,GREEN, BEN FOSTER SCOT CARSON. ECT..

Fabio Capello has been advised to take a look at Newcastle United keeper Steve Harper.

The stopper has anchored the best defence in the country and turned in a string of fine performances for the Geordies - after making the position his own following Shay Given’s departure 11 months ago.

Capello is facing a keeper crisis if David James fails to regain full fitness ahead of South Africa. Robert Green would be the likely No1 and Ben Foster, who is currently Manchester United’s No3 is in Capello’s squad.

However Harper is one of only a handful of reliable, fit English keepers and although playing outside the Premier League will count against him he has a big fan in boss Chris Hughton

Ben Foster shouldnt even be called up to the England squad.. he only plays reserve team football, so Harper should get the nod before him.

Wonder how that would go down with Given, Harper being in the world cup and him sat at home throwing darts at a pic of Thierry Henry.

Harper is a good keeper.

Foster is a fucking cunt if ever I seen one. That time he had a look at the 'ipod' showing why way Chelsea players hit penos in thr charity shield or whatever it was he saved 1 penalty that was straight fucking at him and he gets an England call up. I would have him down as in the bottom 5 keepers in the prem league.

why the hell did harper sit on his arse in the pikey traitors shadow for so many years though, i know he was doing his little open university course but he did seem quite happy to just collect his wages and bide his time, which shows a distinct lack of ambition really, his career will be over soon with only a couple of seasons under his belt Confused
