If we Do go back up..

Out of all the players we got who would you keep for the prem or think are good enough for the prem i know this is a team that took us down given Martins and Owen and beye and Bassong fucked off..

Who would you get rid of and bring in..?

Personally i think Enrique, Taylor, Ranger,Pancrate,Harper, krull,Simpson at a push Guti and Colo would survive my team rest would be sold..

If we Do go back up..

Sadly I would only keep:

Harper - Starting to look good now.
S. Taylor - 100%'er, will give everything for NUFC.
Enrique- Outstanding, love the bloke, may well turn into one of my fav NUFC players of all time.
Coloccini - Flattered to decieve in his early days at Newcastle, found wanting alot, but will learn alot about the English game in the Championship.
Simpson - Looking better and more secure everygame, has a lot to learn.
Guthrie - Not awe inspiring, but maybe a squad player.
R. Taylor - cover for right side, could save us a few million
Krul - one for the future
Kadar- Looks decent, still young and will learn

Players who I would let go:

Nolan - Hard grafter, but dont think he has the pace of the Premier league.
Barton - Never liked him, dont think he offers anything for NUFC's future.
Guti - way way to inconstant. Even in this league he makes hard work of it.
Geremi- Already decided that he is going
Butt - True professional, however, without the footballing brain to make up for tired old legs.
Ameobi - Sorry Shola, step up to far for the Fenham Eusebio

Undecided.

Lovenkrands - Can offer goals and assits, can he make it in the top league??
Smith - Bossing the midfield, but hasnt got enough class to do the same in the Premier League.
Carroll - A nuisance up front, but needs to be scoring more.
Ranger - Very good prospect, however if he cant score in this league, he will have no chance in the Premier League.

There we go, my honest opinion.

If we Do go back up..

Have to agree with you there like. That sums up my choice. However, not getting too excited about Pancrate just yet. Only played 40 minutes or so.

£100mil?

Are you serious?

Look at the teams in the PL man, £100mil would buy stokes entire squad twice over and still have plenty change, yet they are midtable!!!!

We need a good trustworthy manager first and foremost, and a spend of £20mil would keep us up in my opinion.

Sal, Ashleys spent the whole of last season doing exactly what you are saying... trying to do things on the cheap.

Look where it got us. £100m would have to be a minimum, just to get us started back on track challanging for a european place.

For Europe then yes of course.

We all know the bare minimum is all that will be spent though, and £20mil is enough to keep us in the league.

There are several teams in the league with minimal investment. Much less than £20m. Some of which will stay up.

With the Premier League as poor as it is, I reckon two or three new players, a decent owner/manager and a bit of stability would be enough to keep us up. Doubt it would be the most enjoyable season ever, though.

However, I can see Ashley spending the whole of next Summer trying to sell us again which completely pisses on what I've just said.
