Hughton Wins 3rd Award

Newcastle manager Chris Hughton has been named Championship Manager of the Month for November.

It is the third month in succession that Hughton has taken the honour after he kept Newcastle top-of-the-table.

Indeed Newcastle took maximum points in November with wins over Sheffield United, Peterborough United, Preston North End and Swansea City.

"The achievement is for the team really and reflects where we are in the league right now," he said.

"The only reason someone in my position wins these awards is because we have won enough games.

"The lads are doing the business on the park and that shows with five straight wins.

"November was an excellent month, especially because it came after a disappointing October.

"But long may this run continue and if that means winning more personal awards then I'd be delighted to collect them."
