Emirates

Nicked this off another board.

I've heard a little rumour that Arsenal's sponser Emirates are considering sponsering us from next year and replacing Northern Rock. They are hoping the move will increase travel from Newcastle International airport with the airline which has said previously thatit's success at Newcastle International airport is more popular then they orignally thought it would be.

What do you think?

PS. I don't have one of those additional option boxes to do a poll. I only have Tags and Post Icons. What gives?

NTL sponsored loads of teams when we had them (Villa, Rangers and Celtic off the top of my head).

Plus Rangers and Celtic always have same sponsor because the daft twats in Glasgow will boycott Carling if one or the other is sponsored by them.

I heard a whisper today that some people are flying in this week from Dubai to talk about the sale of the club. Take it as you find it.

Come on Tex, you know what "tapping the nose" means on this forum.

For your sake, and the sake of nose tapping.... I hope there is some credence in your story.Big Grin

Aren't Dubai supposed to be skint anyway?

Abu Dhabi is a seperate state in the Emirates I think. Thought they'd be the same as Dubai to be honest!

Abu Dhabi is the capitol of the UAE. It has always been in Dubai's shadow. Not anymore it seems.

They are not that skint they cant buy us well im hoping anyway. I think now is the best time to buy us when we are top of the tree.

A investment in players would guarantee an immediate return on buying the club if we gain promotion.

Abu Dhabi was always the more prominent country until the 90's/00's when tourism in Dubai took off. Abu Dhabi has also largely helped bank roll alot of Dubai's development because the prince's their have all the dosh - just on the surface it appears to be the work of the Dubai lot.
