Robert has eyes on a Magpies return

ffs are we going back into a time warp....

NEWCASTLE UNITED’S latest French import has paved the way for Laurent Robert to make a shock return to St James’ Park.

Robert, in talks with Paris St Germain after spending the last couple of months training with them, helped convince Fabrice Pancrate to move to Tyneside.

Now Pancrate, who made his Newcastle debut in Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Swansea, has been looking to return the favour in the hope he will joined in the North- East by his close friend.

The Magpies’ latest signing has given Chris Hughton his compatriot’s phone number and now Robert is hoping that something concrete will develop in the next few days.

Pancrate said: “Laurent told me he would like to come back here. If it could happen he would say yes. That’s what he said to me. He loves the club.

He's too fucking old now less of these old cunts coming in Sol Campbell ect..

What would it be like if we do go back to the prem OAP UNITED..With Rumours of Beye wanting to come back..

Hate to see how much they would want in terms of wages...

I reckon they'd come here for next to nothing, I'd take them both on a free, RObert on a 1 year rolling and SOl on a 2 year with coaching duties

He was going to play for PSG for free...just give him a house and car. That'll do.

He can come on for free kicks.

Big Grin

Off topic but when I was out walking my dogs the other day I saw a fella carrying a huge cross. Seriously, he was hauling it along on his shoulder. I thought I was seeing things.

As you were.

If we got him for free and on affordable wages on a short term rolling contract that would be fine with me.

As for the comment about Enrique - he practically plays the entire left side himself now anyway - Jonas has been fairly poor value so far.

Robert would give us greater attacking options and produce more than Jonas does that's for sure.

I'd have him back here for the promotion push.

He'll be a bit slow now, but ah bet he'll still have more pace than most of our players.

Bet he'd score a few goals as well.. long rangers, free kicks, and chuck in some assists as well.

I think Robert was one of THE players of the last 10 years. If he still has the legs I'd have him back for the promotion push. The squad is still weak - we don't have a lot of options down the left.

I tell you what though - when we go up, we'll need a winger who can actually cross and score like Robert could in his prime.

Big Grin

I still remember the last game of the season he played for us and he stripped off down to his crackers, and ran around St. James' when the game finished.
