I remember True Faith publishing some translations of the Spanish newspaper reports of the game, and the Barcelona players saying that they felt they were beaten on the way to the ground. They said that they felt they were playing against a whole city, everytime they looked out of the bus windows there were black and white shirts all over the town, and when they got onto the pitch, the ground was a sea of black and white and the noise just overwhelmed them. A truly great night in our history. What Dalglish did tothat side was a disgrace - another clueless witless fuck in charge, to rank alongside Lee, Souness and Allardyce.

Unusually for me I went in about 20 minutes before k.o, and i honestly never sat down, along with everybody within 20 rows of me, for the entire 90 mins. A bit nerve wracking for the last 15 mins, but outside a derby, it was the most electric atmosphere i've experienced at SJP for decades. It made the 5-0 against man u seem like a friendly.

I was only 7, and can clearly remember cartwheeling around the living room in Tino fashion when he got the hat trick.

Can only remember our 3 goals, but watching that video, we hammered them until the last half hours or so. And Gillespie had some pace! Eek

And unusually for him, that night he managed to cross the ball too
