Ben Arfa

He's been stripped of his number according to this mornings paper, as Pardew continues to freeze him out of the club.
Anyone know what the real story is about why Pardew is so desperate to get rid of him?
Surely it can't be because he returned for pre-season overweight. There must be something else to this.

RE: Ben Arfa

He's been given the #26. De Jong has the #10

Maybe he's overweight and regularly doesn't go to oversees trips with the team in order to see family in France. Well he definitely did that last season.

RE: Ben Arfa

Like most attacking players he isn't great at defending, so is a bit of a liability who works on the principle that it's someone else's job.
He also likes running at defenders and bringing a bit of excitement to proceedings, a big no-no in the lumpen world of pardew. Taking people on is simply not in the script.

There has been loads of rumours flying about.I particularly like the one about Ben Arfa smacking Pardew, Shola then getting Ben Arfa in a headlock.

If that were true he'd already be gone.

I suspect pardew would be on less than solid ground trying to enforce that if it happened.

RE: Ben Arfa

Keep hearing about ben arfa throwing the water bottle off pardew, then both having to be pulled apart.
Heard the same story off a chef in st james
(Who knew absolutely nothing about kk walking or pards taking over houghton) so basically his tale could be tosh.

RE: Ben Arfa

There was words exchanged after the Southampton game between Pardew and Ben Arfa due to his appearance of not caring about the result (other players has words with him too) but haven't heard anything about there being a brawl
