RE: Organised boycott of a game

I am delighted with the last 3 results, but i hope at least some of the home fans will make a point by participating in the walk in and boycott in the next two home games respectively.

3 wins in a row should not change people's thinking.

Ashley out.

Rafa gets it, even if some of our own don’t.

"Our away fans are amazing.

"At home, they are really good but, away, they are even better because they come here just to support the team and enjoy the game.

"So, when you go back with three points, it's the best thing you can do for them."

You two clearly don’t get it, which is sad.

Read what he said again and try and understand what he is saying.

They were certainly up for it, as the atmos came across very well here on Spanish telly.

But:

a) We were winning, for almost the entire game, and finally won.

b) They were clearly there to support the team, not the politics of the club.

c) They were locked in at the end, until home fans fucked off. They were celebratory.

Benitez will be gone soon and we are stuck with it, so he couldnt care less if the fans boycott or not, he will go on to manage other teams and never give us a second thought.........meanwhile we are stuck with mike ashley, Forever, unless the fans do something about it.

Disagree, Willo.

We're stuck with the fat knacker, which you all wanted, until someone buys the club.

Rafa isn't even a pawn in this power-play. And nor are the fans. The latter, because you will never be able to unite everyone, because each have different views. The former, as he's merely an employee of the club.

Those. Are. The. Facts.

In the wise words of Mr John William Weller "governments crack and systems fall, cos unity is powerful...."....if we want change we have to fight for it together.

Yeah.

And in BarcaMag and BarcaMagAgain's equally wise words - you've made up your mind for your own reasons, let others be free to do the same.

RE: Organised boycott of a game

i can't stop them, but it's all about trying to educate them, I used to admire the die hard fans, in fact i still do have some admiration for those who still turned up in the shite days of the late seventies and late eighties but this is a whole different kettle of fish because we have everything in place to be a hugely successful club, the stadium, top manager etc, ....0nly one person will carry on preventing that from happening, and the 50,000 who turn up for every home match are helping him to do that.

'educate them'.

Right.

What is it that you think you 'know' about them, their lives, and how they see things, that 'they don't'??

*apart from how to chuck a beer over someone, but just enough that it leaves you with still some in the glass you can sup - even I'd like to know that piece of magic!

centrifugal force man (how many fukn times? Rolleyes )

The way they see things is basically, "we're going to the match, who cares if we never win anything, we've never won anything anyway under other owners, at least we're in the premier league, Mikes alright, we've had worse,...blah de blah"

some don't care for the politics of it all. Simple as that.

It's not thst 'they don't care' as it is portrayed by some on here, it's just they want to see football, not what some fat cunt does behind the scenes to enhance his personal cash flow.

And. We're here now, because people like YOU, wanted a change anyway. I certainly didn't.

Whilst it wasn't all plain sailing - at least we competed most of the time under him, and he bought the players his manager wanted.

I was, in general, happy under his stewardship of the club - YES.

add to that 'and to whom'.

add to that value of the playing squad.

Your argument falls short.

That doesn't include making appointments like fucking Kinnear, Wise, having us relegated twice, wants us to only just survive, getting as much free advertising as possible from the club, decimating the squad, and even renaming the ground: And, is a cockney cunt.

The former fatboy, didn't do any of those.

Sure, a shit appointment in Souness, but all things considered......

Erm...rather going off point here lads.

What I meant in terms of Rafa gets it, is this part of his statement;

“because they come here just to support the team and enjoy the game.”

And that’s it in a nutshell for me, it’s why I and my mates go, along with having a bit of craic with your pals.

The owner, our league position, our trophy cabinet, don’t come into to it, as we have very little affect on any of those.

It’s just about enjoying yourself and backing the club we all love, that’s it, pure and simple.

That’s why it will be a real struggle to get a mass boycott.

Too many have the same mindset, it’s our club and for all it’s failings, we love it all the same.

And Rafa gets that. SBR got it and KK understood.

Kind of my point, too.

Some people are not into the politics of it all - they simply want to watch some football.

I know when I was growing up and we were shite then, before the Keegan era - it was all about going to the match and not about who owned the club.

KK undoubtedly got it and still symapathises with the fans and loves the club and always will, as would SirBob if he was still with us bless him, but rafa will get fixed up somewhere else and forget all about us, there's not the same affinity with him.....effectively mike ashley has fucked over both KK and benitez, two managers with the ability and ambition to take the club forward, and he will continiue to do so with other managers who have the audacity to ask for more money to strengthen the squad.

LL you are clearly happy with mediocrity and hopefully avoiding relegation every season, therefore Mike has got you exactly where he wants you, he loves the fans who think like that, but be honest, what kind of fucking existence is it? we deserve so much more........some of us would like to see our team challenging for trophies and titles, champions leagues and all that jazz before we croak, and that's what Benitez wants for us aswell.

I'm not sure you can give the reasons as you do, and then in your last paragraph come up with your analysis, starting as you do.

It's incorrect assumptions you are making, based on - well - frankly nothing but your own interpretion.

It's been stated as simply as:

Not everyone who watches the Toon games, is into all the politics.

It doesn't mean 'put up with mediocrity'. I myself watched some horrendous SHITE in the 70's and 80's. It WASNT ABOUT THE POLITICS, IT WAS ABOUT GOING TO WATCH SOME FOOTBALL.

Get it into your head lad - not everyone thinks the same as you.
