Cancelled.

Probably lack of interest in travelling all the way there.

When the readies are on the table he’ll go and not before, most sensible people know that.

Haha... LL at his sanctimonious best

The daft knacker forgets that this is the exact form of protest he has been advocating for years

When the going gets tuff he just bends over and asks for more

Being in the Championship is hardly a disaster for him anyway. If anything we get on the telly more so his shite can be emblazoned across the screen more frequently.

RE: Protest

Not smug at all, just pointing out the obvious.

Not that many people were interested in going, otherwise this would have been on.

Also, until a credible buyer turns up, offers the money he wants and closes the deal, he’s not going anywhere.

I don’t know what is so difficult to grasp?

A few hundred people shouting at a shop will not remove him.

We are powerless in this whole sorry saga.

And before you start, honestly believe an empty stadium wouldn’t budge him.

Cash is king with this fucker and until at least £350 million, with no strings attached is on the table, he’s going nowhere.

Talksport reported on the Magpie Group protest at Oxford Street in London..

It's not shouting at buildings, it's gaining press coverage that Ashley doesn't want...

The Shirebrook protest, although it didn't go ahead, cost Sports Direct money as the brought in extra security....

RE: Protest

I applaud them for trying, just feels so pointless with this bloke.

He really couldn’t give a fuck and their efforts are not really putting any pressure on him.

It will only change when someone produces the cash.

Every little rumour is latched on to by most of us, as our hopes are built up slightly, then it peters out into nothing, think the vast majority are just resigned to the fact he’s going nowhere, any time soon, barring a miraculous new owner materialising out of the blue.

And in the meantime keep handing your cash over and doing your best to make sure Sports Direct United remain in the Premier League as nothing but his golden goose

Most sensible people should be able to see that

RE: Protest

The shirebrook protest was apparently cancelled due to increased security there, not lack of numbers. If you bothered to do research instead of gloating you'd see the protests were redirected to other stores. Sorry to disappoint LL.

You kid yourself that was the real reason, lack of interest in people travelling 2 1/2-3 hours the more likely reason - how many seats were booked on the bus? Doubt if it will have been full or they would have went.

As for the London protest, around a dozen or so people and one bloke shouting about shutting a street down.

https://www.themag.co.uk/2018/11/photos-...ited-fans/

I think we can see that the appetite for real protest just isn’t there.

Not saying that is right, it’s just an observation of reality.

As I say he won’t go without someone coming up with the cash.

No shit.

So we should only start protesting once we know there is someone ready with the money according to that logic.

Until then, let's leave poor Mike alone.

Utter bollocks.

You're a fuckin crackpot you like LL

The only time in recent history that we have been anything close to the club that we should be was the John Hall era

That didn't come from full houses 'supporting the lads through thick and thin' - it came on the back of the club being in the doldrums and crowds of less than 18,000

Blind loyalty is an entirely selfish decision (one you are perfectly entitled to make) but don't try to argue that any kind of loyalty to the club is necessary to success - we've won fuck all in recent history despite the full houses

RE: Protest

Yes you’re right under SJH, where money bought the club & money bought the players to kick us on to where we can be again.

Football is no different now, except it takes a whole lot more money these days.

I’m no crackpot, I just live in the real world and know that boycotts now are no more effective than they were back then.

Money is all that can change the current situation, as it did then & don’t be bleating for a cup final ticket when it does. Wink

Oh dear.....looks like you are the one who should have ‘bothered to do your research’.

I didn’t even do any research before my post, it was fucking obvious hardly anyone wanted to go.

So, next time you have a pop, get your facts right at least.

It doesn’t require in depth analysis, short and sweet and to the point.

We are all equally frustrated, we all want rid, we all jump on every slight morsel of hope of a takeover in the media - even if it is some obscure financial website in the US, that someone on Twitter has found.

So - if the club were to plummet into the first division with crowds of 10,000 - would the valuation be still £400mil??

Is there not a logical argument to suggest that full houses are doing nothing but putting barriers in the way of a sale at a reasonable price??

No one needs to bother fuckin responding - I know the answer

And, when he does go, we're at the behest of the new owner.

Anyone parting with £350m for a football club - you think will be somehow 'good', with intentions for 'the fans'? Or, another motive?

Wake up.

It was wanting 'a better owner' that landed us with this cunt, remember?

What a pile of shite

First of all many of people have chosen to not renew, their own individual protest,

And as for our previous owners at least they were prepared to listen to us and buy players

RE: Protest

I think you've got it the wrong way round, LL.

Before I say why, I think that we all agree that the club won't be sold until someone comes along and pays an agreeable sum of money to Mike. What that sum of money is, however is fluid.

In my opinion, the greatest trick that Mike has pulled to date is getting people to believe that there's nothing they can do to change the situation. In doing so he has engendered an epidemic of apathy and helplessness which serves his needs perfectly. There's nothing he wants more than people doing nothing.

As a result, the swathes of fans and supporters who hold the same ideals as yourself, LL, will do exactly that. Nothing. It's a perfectly sane behaviour when you hold that belief that there is nothing to be done. It almost makes sense. Because if there's nothing you can do then why do anything at all ?

So for me, the problem isn't the fact that you're not doing anything. It's the fact that you don't believe that doing anything will make a difference.

It reminds me of the POW situation. You've all seen the films. When the allied forces were captured and placed in POW camps, some accepted their fate and, simply because they believed that there was no chance of escape, never attempted to do anything. They are the ones that starved to death or stayed prisoners.

Others built tunnels.

It's simply a question of belief.
