NUFC v Tottenham (Match Thread)

Barreca in squad, Almiron not (not yet got visa).

Somewhat of a free hit after the Man City game.

Howay the lads.

Yes looking forward to the game. As you say it’s a free hit to a certain extent.

RE: NUFC v Tottenham (Match Thread)

aye not too bad, a few lapses of concentration at the back, moura needs shooting for missing that header, in fact there were two spurs players left totally unmarked for that chance, Hayden and Longstaff are working hard trying to break things up and win us some possession but spurs do pass the ball around well in the middle, signs that Atsu is controlling the ball a bit quicker today and actually finding a pass, Ronn again holding the ball up well and hard to disposess...look forward to see Barreca at some point

fucking kenedy towards the end instead of passing the ball 5 yards to barreca on the left decides to pass 30odd yards to yedlin on the right wing which is intercepted and spurs break...he's beginning to get right on my tits that fecker.

One mistake enough to give Spurs the win. To be fair they were the better side I thought we should have attacked them a bit more. Shame for the keeper there is no no where to hide in those situations. I guess 1-0 defeat is not a disgrace rather predictable as the game unfolded.

they were by far the better side, rode our luck at times, schars clearance off the line was fortunate and it was panic defending but they are a good side who will always create chances, no shame on dubravka just shit happens like that sometimes.

Can’t say I agree with that like. I’m on my way home from Wembley now and I thought we were very unlucky not to come away with a point. We weren’t outplayed, we weren’t overawed, we contained them to just a couple of half decent opportunities so there’s no way they were the better team by far.

Unfortunately for Dubravka, it’s his error that determines whether we come away with a creditable and deserved draw or a close-run loss.

Gutted.

it was all hands to the pump at the back for us though, it seemed only a matter of time before they scored, their passing and movement was better than ours simply because they have better players, 72% possession, 21 shots, and without arguably their best two players.....everyone of our lads that started the match put a shift in though,.

Looking at the other results, only Palace have picked up significant points today. As long as Cardiff don’t win, we’ll still be 5 points clear.

Agree with TAB

I think (and have always thought) that we are a much better side when trying to play football, rather than letting them play football and dealing with the consequences)

We are a much better attacking side than Rafa would have you believe

They were like, missed sitters aswell.

Game went as logic would have it, we were well organised and tried to counter, but they were the better team overall because of their better players.

We'd be down there with huddersfield and Fulham if rafa had us playing your way.....

apart from rondom and he's not prolific we haven't got the players to put the ball in the net....surely you can see that...

what's mccreery on about anyway.....we DID allow them to play football and DIDN'T deal with the consequences, we allowed them total possession and tried to contain them in the final third and eventually despite some frantic defending they got the breakthrough

Aye - that's the point I was making

Our coming from behind record is woeful so setting us up defensively has rarely worked other than to keep the score down

Second half against City we started getting more players forward and reaped the rewards

Yesterday going forward we made them look vulnerable but didn't do it often enough to break them down

My point is - we can and do attack well at times but Rafa has us set up so defensively (even against lesser opposition) that we limit our own chances of scoring

If this new kid is as fast as is shown on you tube we can play as defensively as we have and counter attack.

The new bloke can replace Atsu not Perez who I thought was ok at spurs
