Well, given the choice between working a 16 hour day with no holidays, and a house owned by the company so you towed the line, on balance - yes. Smile

Good news for them!

What more do they want anyway? Are they so stupid that they don't realise that the financial world just caved in on itself in the last two years? Evertyhwere has been effected.

Held to ransom ? Fucking hell, you've been watching too many films.

These workers have the right to go on strike if working is unsafe. Your self centered 'if they strike they're fucking up my plans to watch a game of football' attitude gives you up. Do you seriously expect them to put their lives on the line so you can go about your sodding business ?

It's all about the green stuff. They just turn up to work, do their bit, then go home like the rest of us.

Seriously Steve, this isn't just about the weekly loot. My mate works on the track maintainance, and corners are being cut. Longer periods of time are lapsing between inspections of track simply because they haven't had an accident on them, and they look ok. The crews are concerned about the state of the tracks. I know i'd be a tad miffed if my family perished because a train shot off a section of track that hadn't been inspected because 'it looked ok'.

Can they please strike either this week or week after so I can get to Posh without having to drive.

If they are genuinely striking over the points you raise then fair play to them - but I rather suspect some cash is involved somewhere.

Never known a worker yet strike purely on a matter of principal, it's always cos they want more.

Them BA stikers - don't they realise the company just posted losses of about £300million - and they are the best paid cabin crew in the business with loads of perks like dirt cheap flights.

This my point.

Like you say, it's not about morals and/or principals, the bottom line is pay. They are doing this strike at the worst possible time as well. I appreciate that is kind of the point in all of this...but they just get themselves no sympathy from Joe Public for their actions.

You can't fucking call them selfish when the only reason you're bothered about them striking is because it's fucking up YOUR plans.

Hypocriticunts.

At the end of the day, people just want to go about their lives without some power crazy workers bringing the country to a halt on one of the busiest days of the year.

It matters not when they last went on strike is. The point is, they are doing it and I can't see what difference it will make to anyone.

If the tracks are that bad, have a pissing meeting with Mr. RMT and raise your concerns. As if going on strike is going to make them sit up and give them some extra money to fix the tracks and pay them extra.

I hope the peterborough train doesn't get held up on the way to the match between stations, due to track safety issues...

Steve could then become the fat controller, keeping everyone's spirit up, like.

On a scale of 1 to 10, ten being the highest chance, for those who have mates working within what are the chances of this strike going ahead?

Fucking hell.

I hate unions me - every time I listen to one of them spouting off, you can guarantee they have a Scouse accent - like that cunt running the BA strike.

The bone idle Scouse cunts - they are getting paid a fair few bob off the members to then recommend that the members down tools.

Jobs for the fucking boys to the Scousers.

They know every lazy bone idle work dodging trick in the book.

Fuck 'em give me the keys to the train I'll drive.

Bastards.

Yes I am a selfish twat who doesn't want to sit in traffic for hours on the A1 to Peterborough.

Especially with 50 mile an hour average speed cameras pissing me off into the bargain and no drink because my pre-booked train has been cancelled or turned into a free fucking bus!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

6.

I think the Gov has a certain amount of influence at Network Rail, unlike BA. So heads may be knocked together.

A fucking coach.

I vowed never will I step foot on a coach for any length of time again many years ago, having got on one that was over booked and having to stand for two to three fucking hours.

Coaches are shit, uncomfortable, no leg room, no facilities, can't walk about, no bar, nah fuck that.
