Can anyone explain this?

From NUFC.com

Quote:Wednesday's results were significant, not because West Brom beat Coventry but because Leicester's last minute defeat now means we could be promoted if we win our next two games.

If we can beat Forest on Monday and then win at Peterborough, then defeat for Forest at Bristol City the same day would see us back in the Premier League.

yes the irishman can make sense of it because if leicester had of won then mathematically they could have finished above us, even if we had won our next 2 games.

but they didnt, so they wont

I thought we had to win 4 to come ahead of Forest? Didn't realise Leicester even came into things.

Unless of course, 3 are automatically promoted now Rolleyes I cannot see how Leicester came into the equation tbh, there's still 3 fighting for 2 places, and that's been the case for the last 3 months in effect.

I get that bit, but to say we could be promoted if we win our next 2 games isn't strictly true surely? There's still 20 odd points to play for, and whilst it's unlikely Forest will catch us up, it's still a mathematical possibility even if we win our next 2 games.

Well in two games time, if we win both our games, and Forest lose both, we'll be 16 points ahead of them, and they'll only have 15 points available.

Aaaaaaah so, it's not just a case of us winning our next 2 games, Forest have to lose theirs? Which makes the NUFC.com statement pretty darned foolish.

*Pushes geeky glasses back to bridge of nose, and sits back triumphantly*

**Actually decides to read NUFC.com post and reluctantly nods in agreement** Sad

Yeah they have to lose theirs, obviously they've lost the first one before they even step on the pitch because we're immense at home and have no chance of failing to win, but they might get something at City, just to make us wait that little bit longer.
