Assuming we are promoted

LeazesLoyal Wrote:1. Who is available?
2. Who is good enough?
3. Who is affordable?
4. Who would want to join us?- that's more aimed for players coming from top half clubs, that might be surplus to requirements.

Well we need all 4 to match and "number 3" is unknown until we know how much Ashley is prepared to spend so it's hard to tell really. Without knowing number 3, we can't really begin to predict our transfer targets.

I think a lot of people will guess that we won't spend much like.

Assuming we are promoted

As mentioned previously, I think we could take a punt on some of Man City's rejects. Maybe even on loan?

Bellamy? Santa Cruz? Irelan (scandal how he seems to struggle to get in).

Assuming we are promoted

I dont think its that, more that we are genuinely in the dark as to what the clubs budget is.

Just a few to consider:

Beckford
Andy Johnson
Michael Johnson
Yakubu
Zaki
Carlton Cole
Jamie O'Hara
Habib Beye
Aaron Hughes (long shot)
Our former gay lad at Palace whos name escapes me
Dorrans

Assuming we are promoted

I'd take Bellamy back in a shot, but you surely aren't serious?

He has been one of Citeh's best players this season and way out of our league now.

Just a few to consider:

Beckford - you know my opinions on him. Not they're worth more than anyone else.
Andy Johnson - good shout, although injury prone
Michael Johnson - supposed to be class, but never really seen him
Yakubu - good shout. would struggle to get him.
Zaki - had a good couple of months
Carlton Cole - any better than Carroll?
Jamie O'Hara - yep
Habib Beye - not so sure now...ageing, can't get a game at Villa...
Aaron Hughes (long shot) - would love him back. Should never have been sold.
Our former gay lad at Palace whos name escapes me - Mr Ambrose...well he didn't cut it way back when
Dorrans - how many pens will he get in the Prem?

Aye, but if City are planning on spending millions in the summer, Bellamy could end up on his way out.

Even then, we'd not be favourites to sign him like, Spurs will be linked with him (they're linked with everyone) and teams like Villa and Everton might go for him.

We'd have next to no chance for two main reasons (well one really);

1. Likely transfer fee (Ashley won't pay it)
2. Likely wages (Ashley won't pay them).

Hmm there's a pattern here somewhere.

Assuming we are promoted

We seem to primarily be being linked with players from the spanish and portuguese leagues in the press, which doesn't mean much as they have been spectacularly wrong on all things NUFC since Shepherd stopped flapping his chops to them every time he got drunk in a whorehouse.

Personally, I'd take Boyd if he'd come - yes, he's another alcoholic troublemaker, but fuck it, we might as well try and open a branch of the priory at the back of the leazes end.

Well I would have included him, but someone mentioned on another thread that he may not get on too well with Ryan Taylor.

Assuming we are promoted

We need a creative midfielder - we've needed one for a very long time.

And the team is far too slow all over the park. Too slow in thought and execution. The number of times I've seen the likes of Guthrie and Nolan dilly dally on the ball will see us cut apart in the Prem.

If we sign two central midfielders of quality and a forward of natural pace and finishing and we may be ok....of course this assumes that the likes of Colo, Enrique and S Taylor prove themselves back in the Prem, which is not guaranteed.

Assuming we are promoted

There will be a lot of competition for decent cast offs from the top 6 so I wouldn't be too optimistic. Players will know that Hughton is untried at this level and effectively on borrowed time and that our owner is a clueless idiot, who most fans hate.

Unfortunatley the likes of Birmingham, Everton, Fulham and (hate to say it) Sunderland will be more attractive than us.

So if we sign Premier League players it will be the one's who aren't wanted by that lot, not just not wanted by their clubs.
