We deffo need him that's for sure, I feel to get the best out of him he works best in a 4-3-3 formation where he gets a little bit more space and time.

do you really believe it, its just PR to show we are UNITED. Martins is on borrowed time and should be sold after his many indiscretions at the club.

Many indexcretions? He had a row with lee Clarke that is all. He aintdone anythin else wrong. He cares abt the club and shows it unlike some of our other so called pro's

Never late for training or games. Keeps poor company? Not a proper reason FFS . He does the biz on the pitch. Good pro n he cares abt the club.

not what you need in the trenches.

I think he is vitally missed at the moment.

Only player with genuine pace, and is actually keen on shooting.

He has been poor of late, he needs to get some kind of form back for these 6 games, along with Owen & Carroll or we are gonners.

if he cared about the club and understood the club he would not be socialising with sunderland players.......now what biz does he do on the pitch because i must have missed it........good pro? he cant even work out which foot to take a penalty with............ he has been a total luxary for two seasons and dont get me started with his age

Have you been to the games much Viana ? You've been watching different one's to me, he's not a footballer he can't link up play with anyone else in a black and white top man. Ok he does the spectacular sometimes but he doesn't know the meaning of the word TEAM. He reminds me a bit of Lua Lua, he could also do the spectacular but couldn't pass to any team mates, wanted to dribble past 8 men and score a great goal all the time, well that's not what this game is about.

I like Martins but he simply cant score goals. As Jack states he is a luxury player that wont be here next season along with the others that are on daft wages.

Oba is one of my favs but as many have said, he is utter pish at the simple things like passing. We simply can't do with such a luxury atm.

For such a piss poor player he's done alright like bring our top scorer the past 3 seasons in total. A relegation threatened club like ourselves deserve better.

as we have scored next to nowt for 3 seasons, and our other strikers have been injured it doesnt really hold much creedence.

ffs owen has been injured to fuck and back and is only a few goals behind him.

I quite like Oba, but I think as time goes on, its becoming obvious that he just doesn't score enough, sure we all love those individual moments, but to me, they are too few and far between.

He can header. We have nobody who can cross.

He can run in behind defenders with his pace. We have nobody who can release him.

All he can do now is rely on the odd good pass that we manage, or create something himself, which he hasn't done this season other than the goal at home to Villa.

In the two games against Man Utd, Oba and Guti were class, because we got the ball to their feet early, when they had space and time to run. Every other game the defense have just hammered the ball forward in hope.

You say that like its"that" many. I am actually worried that Martins may have some dirt on you that he is blackmailing you with.

He's a good player. People expect him to do "that spurs goal" every week but it's not going to happen.

If the team plays counter attack, Oba, and Guti will look far better. If we continue to hoof the ball forward then we'll get nowhere.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't oba have a good first season and there was talk of Wenger and Ferguson eyeing him up at one point wasn't there?

He's gone to shit now though, but he isn't the only one. Players like him and Colo (who started brightly) should really be coming into their own given their age and obvious talent (albeit on a good day), but instead they seem to be going quietly backwards. Oba seems to get worse every season, and I wonder if our coaches shouldn't carry a certain amount of stick for it. It isn't as if it's isolated either. We tend to buy players with big reputations who never seem to improve for us, quite the reverse if anything.
