I did say Shearer would have no problems playing him due to him playing with him.
As much as Shola is a bit cak, I'm afraid to say that I think Owen and Martins together in a 4-4-2 is far too light weight. With Viduka washed up it leaves only Shola or Carroll as someone who must be played to add a bit of muscle.
Personally, given our fucking awful midfield I'd go the KK route and go for 4-3-3 with Carrol or Shola alongside Oba up front and Owen a bit deeper.
Let's hope Al has been listening to KK.
