SHEARER May Play Carrol On Sat...

Shearer may change his line-up after teenage striker Andy Carroll netted twice in the reserves and was given a personal pep talk from the former No.9.

"I asked Andy to go out in the reserves and show me what he could do - and he's done that," said Shearer.

"Like all of the lads who came from the first team, he showed a great appetite and a great attitude. The mood has been very good in training. It's been very positive despite what happened on Saturday against Chelsea. Everybody has come in and worked very hard...

Or he could of course have had a stinker and put the new manager off selecting him this weekend??

Hoy him in I say, Faye & his mate at the back will bully our forwards without Carroll in there.

3 up top, stick 3 workers in midfield, and see what happens.

only because we have no-one else, but they have been dross recently, while carroll is scoring all the time in the reserves as he has done for fuckin years,...you never know, give the young lad a go it could prick the conscience of some of the wasters to see a young lad busting a gut for peanuts Eek

FFS! You might as well have the Lone Ranger and Tonto.

It's a Premiership relegation battle man, a 6-pointer if ever there was one.

I agree with Vic, we need Viduka but that's not going to happen so at least Carrol playing flick ons for Owen and Martins has a chance of working, better still if we can get Guthrie and maybe Barton breaking through from midfield.

I know it's controversial but I think Barton could have a big part to play for us in the last few weeks.

Getting Barton playing is vital.

whats wrong with playing a striker that scored 21 goals in the 2nd team

look at manusa they brought that lad on sunday and he scored and he only played for the 2nd team as well

but carrol has scored and when he has came on he he is a right pain in the arse for centre backs

Better than having martins who just shoots wildy and owen who finished and only gives a fuck aboot his horses,,

Rant over

Are you seriously suggesting that we drop Owen and Martins and play two untried youngsters in a 6-point relegation game?

What harm can it do???????????????????

Shearer wont drop Owen because HE IS OUR BEST FORWARD IF NOT BEST PLAYER ALTOGETHER!!!

Martins happens to be our second best forward.

The midfield is the reason they dont score, because they dont get a god damn chance. I counted 2 crosses that went anywhere near the box against Chelsea, and not a single good through ball, thats the problem, not the pair chasing bugger all.

I agree we should play Carroll, but not in place of either of the others, play him with them, and drop one of our completely ineffective midfield players.

Exactly - If Shearer plays Carrol it will be so he can flick on the long hoofs upfield and turn them into something Owen and Martins can run on to.

Go 4-4-3 or play martins out wide don't drop oba or owen but height needed up front.

Agree with the 4-3-3 and having Carroll in. Carroll will not be intimidated, in fact he's likely to be the one intimidating he's as hard as they come. Our midfield is shit so may as well only have 3 of them and hoof it up to Big AC. Martins will get more time and space in that formation and as we all know he needs 2 touches sometimes to control the ball so it will suit him. Owen is such a good player he can play in any formation so no probs there, the only worry is the fullbacks having the energy to push on and give us width.

OH FUCK OFF..!!! Big Grin

fuckin chopra was class,??.. was he fuck because he was a lightweight and couldn`t make the step up with the big boys, carrolls a completely fuckin different kettle of fish, he has the physical side and can mix it with the best defenders in the prem, AND is clinical in front of goal with his right foot or in the air, he has the power and the aggression to be very useful in the last 7 games,...
