My masterplan for Stoke and the last few games.
Play Steven Taylor as the holding mid-fielder. No matter what you think, he is 100% player and he can tackle, and he isnt to bad at distributing. This coupled with the fact he does like to get forward, and has a great engine, could give the team a boost of confidence and I think he would thrive on the new position.
So, I would go...(injuries aside)
Harper,
Beye,
Colo,
Bassong,
Enrique,
Barton
S Taylor
Guthrie
Gutierrez
Owen
Xisco/Carroll.

i have no idea if S Taylor can play midfield or not, but in your masterplan, you need to delete Collocini.

I think we would be better served dropping Colo and playing Taylor and Bassong in Centre back. Colo is just a total liability at this stage.

Colo must play. He is having a shocker lately, but you could say that about 10 outfield players at the minute.
The problem is opposing teams are coming directly through the middle and the back 2 (no matter who) have no cover. Putting Taylor in there would give them protection and would tighten up the defence.

all top argie defenders are thugs, Colo has played all season and picked up 4 yellow cards, that says a lot about how weak he is as he can't even foul!!!!!

Taylor can be a liabiity at CB but I think he could do a better job than Butt in a holding role. I've seen more promise from Carroll than Xisco.

He needs to be dropped, Colo that is, but not sold. He looked really strong in the opening games, think he's just lacking confidence.
Taylor's distribution isn't good enough to play him in midfield, but I think his passion and energy would see him do a better job than Nicky Butt. At least he has a bit of pace aswell.
Put Ryan Taylor at RB, Beye and Bassong in the middle would be a great centre pairing.

My masterplan for Stoke and the last few games.
I'd play the following;
Harper
Beye
Taylor
Bassong
Enrique
Guthrie
Butt
Guitterez
Duff
(the midfield picks itself unfortunately - I wouldn't play any of them if we had other players, but we are stuck with these donkeys for now)
Up front
Owen
Martins
If Viduka was fully fit or I thought Carroll was good enough to play the role, I would drop Butt & play Owen behind Viduka/Carroll and Martins.

My masterplan for Stoke and the last few games.
When I selected my initial team, I was thinking about attacking options.
I rate Colo above Taylor, hence the choice at CB.
Bassong... well, he picks himself, as does Enrique.. being the only left back.
Beye would be detrimental to the team at CB, he is superb at playing the wing. He is far and away out best RB, so he plays there for me.
Taylors distribution is good enough for him to play in the holding roll. We dont have anybody in midfield to play the "killer" ball anyway, so we wont be losing out there.
Barton has played the wing before, and he offers up some decent options.

"He's shit but cares about the club"
What difference does that make Rotti?, you might as well pick me at CB, or anyone of us. Colo has made mistakes recently but is a better player than Taylor

Barton is still injured isn't he, that's why I never picked, otherwise Nicky Butt would be sent back to Manchester.
