Shearer's priority is restoring belief

ALAN Shearer believes rebuilding Newcastle United’s shattered confidence is his priority this week as he emphasises the positives after a miserable first weekend in charge.

Shearer gave the first glimpse into his management technique in the wake of the dispiriting defeat to Chelsea, saying that his post-match team talk was aimed at building up his players rather than handing out a dressing down for their basic errors in the second half.

He has already attempted to foster more team spirit by making all the players eat together after training, but it will be on the field where they are required to prove their mettle

also this hopefully is a good sign..

United’s caretaker boss cut a frustrated figure as a surprisingly flat St James’s Park witnessed an eighth home game without a victory,

and he dropped a huge hint that defender Fabricio Coloccini will be ousted when Sebastien Bassong returns for the crucial Stoke game.Big Grin

Shearer revealed that the French defender was “90%” fit but was not risked with one eye on the rest of the relegation run-in. Steven Taylor is also expected to return for the trip to the Potteries – a game United must not lose.

That Collocini is awful like - never seen such a soft Argie defender.

And the other Argie cunt needs a kick up the arse aswell.

Chasing people back into your own half is not his priority - scoring and creating goals is - something he hardly ever does.

When did they stop doing that?

It was the first thing Robson did when he came in!

Eat together and dress the same.

I blame Souness

My daughter plays footie for her university over here, and they always have team dinners after a game. No ifs or buts.
