Weekly NUSC Statement

Quote:[INDENT]Altogether Now - Rallying call to supporters
Newcastle United Supporters Club (NUSC) urges all fans to join together for a final push to fight the nightmare of finishing in the bottom three.
We can’t pick the team, select a manager, dictate tactics or buy and sell players. What we can do is fill the ground for each of the four remaining home matches, just as we know the hardcore away support will take up every away ticket.
Support for the team comes first and we urge everyone to make that the priority for the remaining weeks of the season. When the dust settles on this nightmare season that will be the time for supporters to decide if they want to pay their money and put their faith in whoever is running the club.
For many supporters not going to the match will never be a choice but many others may only continue to financially support Newcastle United if it is once again heading in the right direction.
Let’s send out a message to Mike Ashley and any prospective owner - the supporters are the club’s biggest asset and that with a truly ‘United’ club there is no limit to what can be achieved. The aim of a truly ‘United’ club will also be our future challenge to them.

"When the dust settles on this nightmare season that will be the time for supporters to decide if they want to pay their money and put their faith in whoever is running the club." erm... what about the thousands who buy tickets on a match by match basis??

All this truly united crap, this wasn't the message a few weeks ago was it. How many more times are they gonna change their stance on the club

I dare you to post that on their website, you'll get a reply making War and peace look like a pamphlet Big Grin
I wonder at what meeting that resolution was passed, or whether it was a groundswell of opinion? Good on them for getting together and trying to organise, but these handed down pronouncements about courses of action to take, whether purchasing merchandise or boycotting, are getting more and more patronising. People will do what they will do, whether everyone agrees or not, and NUSC aren't going to change that. If they want to go along and lend their support - so be it, but don't lecture others on steps to take.

At least they are having a go, voicing their concerns so to speak, Why be bothered by other fans it's the people in charge at the club you should be more concerned about.

aye while lining their pockets at the same time

£10 membership fee gets you a 42p membership card (figures taken from them meeting minutes) so that's a £9.58 profit on each member the recruit

They can spout costs of venues and all that shyte, however they could easily find somewhere that would let them use a venue for free or for a small donation (like community halls for a start) and i can imagine alot of the venues they choose (pubs/clubs) won't mind for a small fee as they are getting more member supping their beer making the venue more money.

As for admin costs don't make me laugh, what admin work is there to do

Haven't they changed status to a trust of which many clubs supporters groups are affiliated to.

nope since they are now affiliated with supporters direct they are officially recognised as a supporters group and not a trust

and as for other supporters groups being affiliated with them, from the ones i've spoken to over the past few months. They have the same attitude towards them as the majority of fans

"James Mathie then explained the basic features of the Trust movement -democratic, not for profit, run by fans, community focused, accountable, transparent and open and what was required to transfer NUSC to a Trust."

Doesn't sound like pocket lining to me.

I think I'll save my vitriol for those who really deserve it, the people running our club.

"democratic, not for profit, run by fans, community focused, accountable, transparent and open"

democratic and run by fans - When was the time the members got a say on any statements they released? Or even when did they have a vote on anything?

Not For Profit and transparent - Taking into account costs and fees, leaves them up financially, as for the figures they have 5 days to get everything in check (will be insteresting to see if they do release them into the public domain), where has this surplus cash gone?

Not interested, like I say I'll keep my powder for the likes of Llambias and leave fellow fans to do as they like.

I suppose some people will blame fellow fans when we go down.Oh well.

Like I say they're only fans trying to do something. If it amounts to nothing then at least they tried.

Can't see the point in people getting at fellow fans when the real villains of the piece are in the boardroom.

Some people will still be having a go at Nusc when we're relegated.

Thing is m8 they had the chance to get rid of Ashley by protesting but all they did was have a bloody mardi-gras type thing before the game the other month.

They will be one of the 1st along with that cunt wraith moaning and saying Ashley has ruined the club when we go down.

Quote:they're only fans trying to do something

What are they actually doing though m8 to me those young kids who were chanting for Kevin Keegan when he walked have done more than NUSC have done to get shot of Ashley.

Like i say IF we go down expect statements from the NUSC/Wraith spouting bollocks.

I've seen more people condeming protests than supporting them lately.

When it was thought NUSC were going to protest they received an avalanch of criticism.

Like I say though why have a go at fellow fans. Llambias belittled them the other week as a small organisation and so they are but the contempt he showed for them is just exactly what he thinks of all the fans. Only they are speaking out so he can focus on them.

Divide and conquer it's the oldest trick in the book and the people you should be having a go at are laughing that people on message boards like this are bickering about NUSC and other fans rather than them.

When they try and organise protests they get criticised, because it was at the "wrong time" - and supporting the team was more important.

Now, when they try and urge people to give the team a lift, they get criticised again.

Aye, well if people signed up and voiced there opinions to the NUSC then maybe something would be done. They go with the majority. But the majority would rather sit and slag them off than join them and give them their opinions.

Its because they have made the decision on behalf of "52,000" people they get criticised and not for actually trying to do stuff. If they had a poll on a web site and a majority wanted protest action.. then fine. They dont. They tell us "what we have to do" which gets a lot of peoples backs up.

does it really?

"We can’t pick the team, select a manager, dictate tactics or buy and sell players."

this sentence alone is bullshit. Managers have been (rightly) hounded out of SJP in the past, fan pressure has brought about signings (Solano's return) and by criticising manager's opinions de facto team's have been picked, and tactics are often changed (ie. attack for fucks sake) when the crowd get going at SJP.

Still, let's not let a few facts get in the way.

But......................

I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment of getting behind the team up until the moment we are relegated. But I find it hard to believe that anyone requires these strange lot to tell them that. What are we, a set of fucking children or 1930's Germans, begging for leadership like a set of slavering morons?

"When the dust settles on this nightmare season that will be the time for supporters to decide if they want to pay their money and put their faith in whoever is running the club."

TIME TO FUCKING DECIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IF NO ONE HAS MADE THEIR MIND UP ABOUT ASHLEY BY NOW THEN THEY WANT LOBOTOMISING AND SECTIONING FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY.

That was all just wasted on me, I made my mind up about Ashley and co long ago. It just amuses me to see fans criticise other fans for speaking out whilst agreeing with their sentiments.

But carry on. Like I say Lambias is loving it.

That Steve Wraith has as much power as they do he gets his mug on the tv every now and then.

I've spent half me life criticising other fans when they talk shite. I can remember a mate of mine defending MacKeag for fuck's sake. And the number who still think Shepherd was in the right is quite frankly disturbing.

I'm all for a NUFC fan club - but this shower of shite make me laugh. If anything their press statements (who can forget their pathetic "olive branch to Ashley" statement) are playing directly into Ashley's hands. If you can't see that then try reading their statements a bit more carefully.

All I see is a bunch who leapt on the back of the original KK protests and have now gradually edeged their way to wanting to be on the board themselves! Or was that last week's stance. Who the fuck knows with these jokers.

And if we stopped criticising each other what is the point of baords like this? Only reason I joined the original one was to have a go at Shepherd lovers. Plus ca change!

ps. not sure why you keep mentioning the forner casino owner. Organ grinder and monkey springs to mind.

He's loving it that fans are more concerned about slagging other fans off than worrying about the likes of him and his shennanigans.

Loving it.
