Came back to training a week or 2 before the other clubs players. Surely this would mean our players would have a 2 week fitness boost on other players.

If the players were not involved in the WC surely it would be better to get their fitness up ASAP.

How long do players actually need to rest m8. They have had over a month so far which to me is plenty.

True, after all that's what we get in our 9-5 jobs! But then we aren't poor over paid athletes!

But surely the longer a player is inactive that is when they can get injured.

Difficult balance to strike really. As long as the players don't act like me when on holipops, then i'd have thought a month to 5 weeks is ample rest. We'll probably be playing significantly fewer games this season, unless we cop for a miraculous cup run, and when you factor in free w/e for qualifiers for the Euro 2012, which will hardly decimate the squad, we have no excuses fitness wise.
