RE: Transfer deadline thread

No room for any midfielders at all now like. Could perhaps accommodate a young winger as cover for everyone so long as he was happy on the bench.

A centre forward and cover left back would be nice, but I dont think we will be even looking for anyone at all now.

A lot will depend on Carrol and Enrique staying fit. Just hope this gamble does not backfire.

RE: Transfer deadline thread

I can see why we havent bought any more forwards like.

We have Carroll, Lovenkrands, Xisco, Best, Ranger & Shola. While clearly some of these guys arent up to it, we have them on the payroll nonetheless and its fair enough to expect to lose a couple before we load up with any more.

To still only have one recognised left back is crazy though, for it to have gone on for so long now too is comical.

Officially Kadar is LB/CB, and Tozer is a left back.

Neither good enough to play even back up at PL level, but they would tick the box if a bean counter made a list of what we needed.
I'm a bit surprised we weren't in for Insua, to be honest - he clearly would have preferred to stay in the UK, would have had an argentinian connection here, and fits our recruitment criteria, except the being English bit - maybe he wasn't happy about playing second fiddle again?

Fulham want Royston Drenthe now he would be great cover for enrique and can play either left back or left wing..

If we don't bring in another striker i think we will struggle because Carroll isn't fully fit and the rest are fucking dog shit bar Lovenkrands.

When is that red faced shouty sweaty sock coming onto Sky.
I love it when the daft cunt gets dead excited then tells us that the hot breaking news is that Jimmmie McSweatybollocks has completed a 6 month loan deal from Montrose to East Fife.

Radio commentators said he had a decent game at the weekend.

He did well enough against Villa too.

£1.5mil is peanuts, he can cover a few positions, no doubt he is regarded as a squad player anyway.

See with this new rule coming into effect that you have to have so many english players in the squad means these richer clubs will be sniffing about for any half decent english player.

RE: Transfer deadline thread

There's no such rule, rotti - it's players that have been at your academy or whatever for a few years (I think) regardless of their nationality. However, the fact he's under 21 and therefore exempt from the 25 man squad thing would crank his value a fair wedge.

That said, anywhere that would pay him more and be more prestigious he wouldn't be a first choice striker, nor their number 9. And I can't imagine anyone is going to buy him until the court case is over. He'll be here til january at the very least.

RE: Transfer deadline thread

Im on about in the next few years m8, i thought Platini/Blatter wants each country to have at least 6 National players in the 1st 11.
Quote:the '6+5' rule does not contravene the European Labour Law on the freedom of movement. Clubs will still be free to take on as many foreign players as they want. When a match kicks off however, they will have to have six players on the pitch who are eligible for the national team of the country in question.

Liverpool have signed Paul Konchesky, and have a bid in for Carlton Cole.

Appoint a Fulham manager, get a Fulham team.

RE: Transfer deadline thread

Aye but they have Fulham finances now too.

I didnt watch their game at the weekend, but I read they were shyte? At home against supposed relegation fodder too.

I think their fans are going to have to learn to lower their expectations like we have had to (not to the same extent like).

I also read 90 fans travelled to their Waffa cup away leg in Turkey?? A fair few walking alone that night then ey.

Not yet its not!!

I think they have a few more notches to tumble down from here!

Torres leaving will be a killer blow to them, that will happen if they dont get their act together this season.
