Arsenal set to move for Japanese youngster Ryo Miyaichi
See Wenger doesn't mess about waiting for players coming available he gets them early.
Arsenal are considering a deal for Japanese strike prodigy Ryo Miyaichi.
The teenager impressed on trial last month after previously playing at the U17 World Cup in Nigeria last year.
Sources at the 17-year-old's Chukyodai Chuyko High School said Arsenal officials are due to fly out to agree a preliminary contract with him in the next few days.
Miyaichi is expected to sign a permanent deal until 2015 during next January's transfer window.

To be fair, we are at least 10 years behind Arsenal in the scouting game.
I suspect this is Ashley's goals long term.

As I understand it, this was Ashley's long term plan all along, decried by most on here because they want they're shiny pot today, not tomorrow.

Figs, I hear what you're saying, but I'd be a bit upset if we finished the transfer having signed 5 or 6 17 year olds from Japan.
We need players for now, not the future.
Anyway, we have a few promising young foreigners like Vuckic, Edmundsson and Kadar, so we aren't doing too bad.

Plus Arsenal are already in a position to pick and choose players from the first team right down to 4 year olds.
We arent.

If i were a arsenal fan id be pissed off with wenger over the last few years. he has money available to him yet he doesnt spend much of it. Its ok bringing in youngsters but how long will it take them to get to the stage where they are playing week in week out.

Cant understand why they didn't try harder to bring in a keeper. it was obvious Fulham wouldn't sell their keeper until they had a replacement for Schwarzer.

Wenger needs to scoop a trophy this season to justify his approach like.
It's criminal to still have Almunia as his number one. If and when they do win something though, it's hats off to him for proving it can indeed be done without spending obscene amounts of coin as well as playing some of the best football around.
Not a single Englishman in their 25 man squad mind. That is terrible.

Aye but the likes of Walcott and Wilshere, two of England's most promising talents, didn't need to be registered because of their age.
As for Almunia, he's not the greatest 'keeper, but he's not the reason they're failing to win trophies, he's capable enough and not their main weakness.
Their lack of a 20+ goalscorer in the attack is their biggest let down.

Arsenal won't have money until the stadium is paid for, then they'll be rolling in it

Perhaps he isnt their only weakness, but he certainly isnt up to the task of winning a league title. There are probably at least 10 better keepers in the league now.
Plus they have signed Chamakh, and sooner or later RVP will being injured all the time. In fact, had RVP been available last season, they may well have won the title.

Not a single Italian in Inter's Champs League team either. Bloody foreigners.

Chamakh isn't a goalscorer, well he didn't have a great record in France anyway.
Wenger may get the best out of him like.
Van Persie is always injured, he'll never be fit enough to fire them to the title.
Almunia isn't the worst in the Prem.
