I would always prefer someone that I can firstly trust (on the face of it), preferably have a good track record, play the right stuff (or try to) and some some personality. A lot of the time they just have to fit the club they are at, regardless of track record. Someone like Allardyce for example ticked pretty much no boxes at all, though he had a relatively good track record at Bolton, and was always on to a loser. I think in Hughton at the moment he ticks all the boxes barring having the good track record, but he has time to remedy that. The bloke is ideal for where the club is and Ashley must be over the moon with the calming influence he has brought.
