Barton and Carroll

Although I think all of the team played well today, these two were excellent and instrumental in everything for me. Barton especially. There were a number of times when, historically, he would have lost his blob, but he kept it together and put in an excellent performance. Carrol deserved his goal but should be pleased that he will be allowed to put the cat out tonight.

Barton had a good game but surely Nolan and Shola deserve the praise??

Not arguing about that mate - yes they did and yes they do. They scored the goals and all of the rest of it - but the other two put a real shift in and were part and parcel of the result for me.

Real team performance.

Nolan will rightly get the headlines but we were fantastic across the whole team.

Danny Simpson deserves a mention, miles better than Perch

RE: Barton and Carroll

All the lads did it today, great team effort. As I said on another thread Carroll was imense today for me, involved in everything and worked his arse off helping out at the back and up front. Barton, Nolan, Shola and AC ran the unwashed ragged, if they could give that every week we'd make the top 6 no worries, but I suppose that's the difference between the top sides and the rest and up till now we haven't managed to do that every week. Well played lads, have a rest tomorrow and bask in your golry, you surely deserve it.

RE: Barton and Carroll

Krul, nowt to do, but did nowt wrong.
Simpson, class tackle early on, good cross for goal. Nowt to do. Did they have a left winger?
Colo, Williamson, both made Bent look shit.
Enrique, good going forward, solid defensively. As ever.
Barton, superb passing. Oh, and I loved it near the end, when we were 5-0 up and he sprinted back to make a class tackle, then back heeled the ball to the full back totally making the mackem look daft.
Tiote. Tio, tio, tio-te, tio-te, tio-te. Class. Again.
Nolan. Funky chicken.
Guti, ran all day, didn't stop, they couldn't handle him.
Shola. Mint.
Carroll, battered the fuckers, and that run in the fist half...he has a bit of pace.

Hughton is just awesome.

I love them all.

RE: Barton and Carroll

The one off the bar counts?

The shot that went to Nolan for the second.

And maybe got a touch for the first but I read somewhere that it was Williamson, couldn't tell though, and was too busy going mental to watch the replay to find out. Even when I watched Motd2. Smile
