I think the problem is that good players are expensive. They seem to be taking the gamble and waiting until the summer.

Some conspiracy theorist on here said the injury was a smokescreen to keep him off the pitch and healthy for such a move to go through. Looking like Nostra fucking Damus about now!

But who in their right mind would have turned down that money? The real question now is if it will go into the club. We will find out in the summer.

It's not as though it would have cost that sort of money to not sell him though. That's what I don't understand. Would you sell your house for stupid money if you had nowhere else to live and you couldn't find somewhere else to live for another six months, not even an hotel or B&B?
So given the fact that there was no time to bring in a replacement (although I find it hard to believe there would be no contingency to replace a sought after player) for any amount of money I can't see how it's good business.

It'll go into the club alright - just not the one we want it to go into.

RE: Newcastle United
Well our cardboard boxes haven't stopped us from doing well in the last 4 league games.
And that's before the addition of Ireland...an extra body getting in and around the box.

Well you do that. I'm sure you'll get decent odds.
No news on Ireland's injury yet, either, he could be fit for Wednesday.

A fat fuck billionair would turn down that money from a bloke who owns a club, who has less money than him, and no it will go in Ashleys pocket, as Pardrew will be told to find some load deal or average player!

I wonder how all this has affected the moral of the team?
Will they come out like fighting warriors as if to say, we don't need Carroll. Or will they come out like sheep to the slaughter and play crap.

They'll come out in the same spirit as always man.
Ffs, we've 'lost' Andy Carroll...it's not the end of the world. And to say we've lost something, we did receive £35m for him.
We'll carry on fine.
