Who said we were on the brink of bankrupcy? I must have missed that one like.
Keegan bottled under pressure? What pressure?
We weren't demandin european football. Just a team that was easy on the eye.
Keegan was deliverin that and Ashley interfered. So he left. Not because of pressure.

Selective as usual Viana

The club was in major financial shite if you can't acknowledge thatnyou are naive
I said Keegan is a bottler I.e Man City England first time at toon so I stick by that

So you want a financially wrecked club just so the football is easy on the eye

Don't be silly

Exactly m8 thats not what id call something to be proud of. if their fans desert them in a few years time they could go tits up. saying that they are not that lucky some bastards would bail them out.

i think your words were 'on the brink of bankrupcy'

i wanted a team that was easy on the eye, one we could be proud of and build from there.

your knowledge of football seems appaling, again did i miss keegan bottling something at man city?
i seem to recall him taking over a team that was massively in the shit.
just like he did with us.
know your facts mr cal.

Quote:Fans weren't complaining when we were buying big of course, but if the bigger picture was shown to all then I dare say plenty of worry would have set in.

But people must have known m8 where the hell were we getting the money from to buy these players. Again people didnt complain at the time but now they are.

Regarding the debts of other clubs surely you cant believe many clubs are not in debt, i reckon most are bar the likes of Man City. Im sure if someone can come up with any financial stats of all football clubs in this country there must be nearly 100% in debt of some sorts.

well if you cast your mind back rotti I count myself as one of many who on here were complaining at Shepherd's financial dealings when he was hocking our future on has been players.

The last chairman who used future earnings on transfers was Ridsdale at Leeds............

The point is Ashley is a twat, but like ven said he is simply one in a long line. The main difference with him is that he is the first one to have the financial muscle to balance the books.

I just wish he'd dip into that personal wealth a bit more to put some class on the pitch.

RE: Michael Ashley

remember we were in a financial mess when he bought us, why on earth would he then throw more money at it.

i am glad he has steadied the ship financially and also given the fans reasonable terms or their tickets

but

i dont see us ever having a winning team under him. his choices as managers are poor, the infrastructure is weak the squad thin and his transfer dealings purely financially motivated.

its his business and we are his customers, no more no less, and we need to get used to it

Viana
You do your usual form throw your toys out of the pram when people don't agree with you
I would suggest I have been on this planet a lot longer than you and have followed footie all my life so don't try and patronise me son
If people don't agree with you, which most on here don't seem to, just grow a set and accept it or rebut it in a constructive way
I expect this will be met with a torrent of abuse from you, but as we say in Belfast I couldn't give a flying fuck

RE: Michael Ashley

Viana mate, I can't get my heed around why you won't accept the finances.

Let's forget about what's went on in between and put it simply:

We were losing between £20mil and £30mil a year.

We are now set to be making between £10mil and £20mil a year.

That's in just 3 years and it's regardless of the Carroll money. Also the football team isn't worse.

If you don't see that as an achievement then you really need to give up your career in finance because it's not going to work for you.

wouldnt we all.
but saving a couple of mill, hes hardly 'sorted out us out financially' or 'steadied the ship' which seems to be a favourite on here.

or as cal said 'saved us from bankrupcy'
