RE: Kevin Keegan (breathe in NE1)

KK is the most honest man I've known in football.
His opinion on NUFC is worth listening to.

What purpose does posting on a forum carry?
Keegan is paid to give his opinion. That's what he does.
You wouldn't complain If KK was sayin things you like to hear.
Your complaining because you disagree with what he says.

He was having a go at Ashley, not the club.

RE: Kevin Keegan (breathe in NE1)

when he's naming players names then it goes beyond just having a dig at Ashley

Players he thinks Ashley will sell

I hope he is right about him selling up and fucking off, i do not think he is, but he is entitled to his opinion.

RE: Kevin Keegan (breathe in NE1)

I have to admit my head would say a return for Keegan would be a grave mistake but I cant shake the feeling that he is a man who makes things happen. He wouldnt settle for second best and never has which is why he would never work under Ashley. This realistic attitude is all well and good but we are football fans and are supposed to be dreamers.

Comparing him with the tenures of Dalglsh and Gullit because 'they took us to cup finals' is laughable. Anybody who watched the two teams play knows that. Ditto any criticism about Keegan being a good manager with money behind him. Take a look at how much the club was worth when he came and then how much it was worth when he left, then come back and say that.

My dad for one thinks I am mad and that Keegans name should never be mentioned in connection with NUFC again but I would take him back in a heartbeat. Even if only to dream again for a little while

RE: Kevin Keegan (breathe in NE1)

I see it as a bit like wanting your first love back..........everything was perfect when keegan came.....he saved us from relegation and had us up there with the best of them inside two seasons.....the ground was being done up and we had a Chairman that seemed to want exactly what we all wanted and had the power behind him to help achieve it

It really was pretty much perfect apart from actually winning something but that didn't matter so much because it was a vast improvement on what we had been used to

Now...pretty much all that has changed...the circumstances just aren't the same anymore.......just like when you see your first love again and she's got dyed hair to hide the grey and her tits are facing down instead of up

RE: Kevin Keegan (breathe in NE1)

Keegan's Geordie grandfather Frank, a miner who became a hero during a pit collapse in Durham, February 16, 1909. Keegan's father Joe was also a Geordie and Keegan always regarded himself as one, despite being born in Yorkshire. "Your roots are your roots," he said.

You will always be a GEORDIE to me Kev..

There's plenty on here who toe the line 'oh i don't like Ashley either'
And then the spend the next 10 lines saying how he's benefited nufc. Etc etc
How he has saved us etc.
Load of nonsense.

I love a good fact.
My top 3 our;
We are in more debt than ever.
My favourite is the fact that Mike Ashley has loaded us with more debt than when he first arrived.
Mike Ashley has consistently sold our best players, and made profits in all but 1 transfer window.
