Is Mike doing a good job?

Lets take it to a vote, and find out just how many Ashley bummers infest this board.

is the vote only applicable to people who actually go to the match....surely they are the only ones who can accurately judge?

RE: Is Mike doing a good job?

No, he isnt. He has done some good things, but for me the most important thing has to be communication, and he is terrible at that. He is not the worst we have had, but I do think some of his dealings make him unfit. But we are stuck with him, so I choose to look at the positives.

RE: Is Mike doing a good job?

I believe the majority of fans don't quite understand just how close we were to disaster.

The communication thing is a pile of shite anyway. Would you rather have Shepherd and Hall gobbing off about how we're bigger than Barcelona and how we've got more money than the whole Rothschild dynasty to spend on players? The fans demand communication which is why Pardew comes out every now and again and says fuck all of consequence for half an hour but then everyone picks over the bits and twists it into some sort of portent of doom. Fuck me I thought the Scouse Mackems were bad for moaning but some of our fans - if we beat Barcelona 8-0 in the Champions League final there'd be some fans complaining it would have been 10 if we'd spent more in the transfer window.

RE: Is Mike doing a good job?

Or alternatively someone could say that a club with the 4th highest average attendance in the country should be able to be run to compete at that kind of level rather than say, telling everyone that their best players arent for sale under any circumstances when they clearly are

RE: Is Mike doing a good job?

does attendance have very much to do with the overall picture though?

Compare us to Chelsea.........us - 52,000 x £400 or Chelsea - 42,000 x £700

RE: Is Mike doing a good job?

Simply put - the books needed to be balanced thanks to the catalogue of fuck ups by Shepherd. Annoying as it was losing a great local prospect, it was a case of needs must or go bust.

This happened long before big Mike waddled in

RE: Is Mike doing a good job?

We would not have gone bust FFS

the fuckwit bought a business without completing due diliigence. the biggest debt only kicked in when SJH left the board, if SJH had stayed as the owner as he said he would when marketing the Sporting Newcastle Ajax Model bullshit, which we all bought into, the repayment of the loan would have continued on a monthly basis. and the big debt would still be secured.

So now we have an owner doing it his way, and whilst he might be balancing the books hes also managing down our expectations to decent football, a canny run in a cup and top ten. it doesnt take much investment to achieve this so hes happy

Sorry can you explain this correlation between attendance and Champions League qualification. I thought they awarded those places based on league position. Or are you saying that because we have the 4th highest attendance we should be competing at that level? Why? Because the magic of loyal fans attracts top players to come and play for lower wages? I don't understand why you believe this should be so.

RE: Is Mike doing a good job?

One of the last statements the club dished out, was to say the club have not received any bids for colo, enrique and guti.

usually when a player is not for sale, clubs would add on the end, they are not for sale.. and sometimes not at any price.

the way they are running the club is shit.. you can't build a team, when Mike would happily sell anyone of them.

RE: Is Mike doing a good job?

Well if people are happy just to stay in this league and maybe get through a couple of rounds of the cup you might get your wish as for UEFA cup football lets just say the scum have a much bigger chance of achieving that. That isnt doom-mongering its a fact as you will see next season.

Tell you what sticky this just to prove when im correct which i will be.

RE: Is Mike doing a good job?

Do people realise our wage book increased by almost £20m within 18months of Ashley coming in?
That we had European football only a few months before he bought the club? And lost revenue due to not playing in Europe?
Do people know his poor club appointments decisions have cost us over £10m.
Relegation. HIS fault, experts believe cost us around £50m.
Revenue has fallen due to (some) fans refusing to line his pockets.

People can say Ashley is sorting freddys mess. Reality is though the mess Ashley has made seems to be severly underestimated.
Ashley and NUFC are paying the price for the stupid decisions Ashley has made.

Shepherds reign is a convenient smokescreen for all this or so it appears.
