RE: team for saturday
when you do your Radio Newcastle talk in, everybody should ring in and demand you as manager and owner.
With this achieved we can all stop moaning and bitching and concentrate on football and ale.

Krul
Simpson
Taylor
Colo
Taylor
Obertan
Barton
Tiote
Jonas
Vuckic / Cabaye
Shola
I would rather see plenty of pace on either wing. Barton is not a wide player, he needs to play through the middle or not at all for me like. Would be tempted to leave Cabaye on the bench to start with, it's too big a game to risk him being passed by. I guess it all depends on how both he and Vuckic have trained this week.

Tiote Barton
Obertan Cabaye Jonas
Shola
4-2-3-1
I'm hoping Ba turns out to be better than Shola but at the minute he's not. Plus Shola seems to step up his game in the Sunderland matches, that's why i'd start with him.

RE: team for saturday
Obertan should know whether he has the beating of Brown or not. If he has, then I'd play him up front alongside Shola. If not, then stick Shola up on his own and put Obertan out on the wing, probably something like Irish suggested.
Personally, I wouldn't play Joey this game. The mackems will target him mercilessly, and I think it would be a lot less risky to play Gosling alongside Tiote.

RE: team for saturday
I'd start with Best and Obertan upfront..........If that isn't working get Barton off for Shola and push Obertan out on the wing

RE: team for saturday
Not playing Barton this game is suicidal, he could and probably will motivate the new lads for this, as will Steven Taylor. I think Barton will be well prepared to cop everything they throw at him and I don't think he will stuff up two games in a row, especially after the week he has had. *crosses fingers and toes*

RE: team for saturday
motivate Vic??
he was supposed to be the biggest cunt on earth to the new lads in the dressing room after the Leeds friendly.....that was supposed to be the tipping point for him getting free transfered
Pardew said he would only be accepted back if Barton accepted it was the managers dressing room and not his

RE: team for saturday
Barton can at times be a liability, his form dipped toward the end of last season and his set pieces against Arsenal were desperate.
Having said that, he's still one of our better players when he's on form. I'd love to see Gosling get a chance ahead of him but i don't think it'll happen.

RE: team for saturday
Barton will no doubt be bang up for the derby game, he revels in the hatred its part of what makes him what he is.
I dont know if thats the kind of thing that needs to be fed across to the new players though. Passion yes, but not channelled the way Joey often does.
If Shola is only capable of playing well against the mackems why the fuck is he still at the club?
Personally I would still play Barton because he is still one of the best midfielders we have but I wouldnt play Shola if there was a viable alternative (Ba, Obertan, Best?)

RE: team for saturday
Mac that is unsubstantiated rubbish.
From the 'journalist' Lee Ryder who I used to have respect for.
Lee Ryder did an article on Barton in June saying he was great in the dressing room, that he was pulling his weight and a v important part of team morale attitude etc.
Then suddenly in July Lee Ryder writes a piece that you'd swear was ghost written by Llambias slagging him about his attitude.
Of course in the same article we had the exclusive on Obertan.
Chronicle scratches Ashleys back, he scratches theirs.

RE: team for saturday
Cabaye has been quoted of late saying that Barton has been a great help to him settling in and in training.
Barton has to play, he knows fine well that they are going to target him, just like he knew against Wolves. I dont think thats when Barton freaks out, because he knows its coming, if you know what I mean. He loses it on more random occurrences like last weekend when Gervinho didnt even dive and he thought he did.
I hope Barton and Tiote start in the middle, there is no reason whatsoever to play him wide right now that we have Jonas, Marveux, HBA & Obertan in our squad.

Not just myself Mac.
There was plenty of other fans voicing their outrage.
So much so they held a Q and A about it.
The facts are there Ryder praised him in everyway going.
And wrote an unsubstantiated article, with no evidence, that Barton himself said was incorrect, a month after writing a totally contradicting article.
And of course the exclusive on Obertan came.

what I was getting at is that I can totally understand how difficult it must be for you to believe that Barton could have gone on a rant in the dressing room after getting beat away from home to a team in a lower league.........I can also understand how you would think that he couldn't possibly have been in anyway disrespectfull to his manager or team mates as he has no history on either counts
again....I aplogise for thinking Barton was capable of causing any ill feeling within a squad....I must be getting him mixed up with someone else

You have nothing to substantiate your opinions though man.
The only JB I see, is one on twitter telling the truth.
And another driving force on the pitch, demanding the best from everyone including himself.
