well I was under the impression that making overtures to a player in the media was against the rules. But Redknapp and Ferguson seem to do it all the time with relative impunity.

my point is, all this inconsistency is ridiculous. why even make "tapping up" a misdemeanour. We all know this is how it works so why do the authorities do this?
