i think we can use him as a bit of a deep lying playmaker, he can also break play up.

Blackburn at home, let's go for it.
just looked on nufc.com says Cabaye is doubtful, hope they are wrong.

I'd be more than happy with that set-up.

With Tiote gone we dont really have many options - Gosling doesnt seem to be up to it, Guthrie is injured and Abeid is totally untried.

Abeid definitely needs a chance, untried doesnt mean he isnt good enough! Was good against Forest

I'd swap Abeid for Cabaye, no point risking him and gives a few of the players a chance. Also give Obertan another chance, him being dropped against manure might give him the kick up the wrong un he needed

RE: You're team for tomorrow.

Jones - Cabaye played as a deep / defensive midfielder for Lille in their title winning season, so he must have done a half decent job.

You don't have to be a destroyer to sit in front of the back 4. A good engine, an eye for a pass and a bit of bite can and is effective anywhere on the pitch as long as disciplin is held.

Blackburn will hopefully put out a reserve team so they can 'focus on the league' - God I hate that approach.

Cabaye can play as a defensive midfielder, the main part of his game obviously is passing and playmaking, but he also has a tremendous work rate and is not scared of the physical side of the game, i would have no worries playing him in that position.

Look at Pirlo, he has played the majority of his career as a defensive midfielder/deep playmaker, he hasn't done too badly!

geln hoddle done the same job for spurs on occassion later in his carear but had no pace and from just in front of centre halves he could read the game better and spray long passes.cabaye neeeds to play his game much further upfield ala modric.
if chelsea finally got him, then caybaye would be on arry's shortlist of 1.
hes that good.
