RE: Ratings

Raylor only played for half an hour and wasn't particularly good.

I though Obertan did really well...

How can you give Shola 4? He came on for a few minutes and did well to take some time out of the game.

RE: Ratings

I actually thought Obertan caused them a lot of problems.

It was great to see us having two wings to exploit. That is the big difference between us and a lot of other teams like Villa. Jonas, Santon, Obertan, Simpson ,Raylor all play their part.

RE: Ratings

Who reckons Cisse meant that?

being a little controversial here after chatting to my brother, did he mean it or could that have gone into row GG

and that header, I would have scored. Shola would have.

Now dont ask for my banning, just some thoughts before we start calling him Demba Shearer.

I do like the fact he shoots on sight though to even out my argumentSmile

RE: Ratings

Course he meant it, it was a shot on goal which he intended to score, perhaps it was fortunate to go that far in the top corner but to say he didnt attempt/mean it is just silly, i hope you are banned Big Grin

Also Perch & Guthrie deserve a 8/9 respectively solide performances that imo was the reason we won the game.

RE: Ratings

Krul 9 - Class.
Simpson 7 - Did ok, second half was much easier against Heskey.
Coloccini 6 - At fault for the goal, dragged all over by Keane, fancy footwork not coming off. Still had a decent enough game.
Williamson 7 - Looked quite comfortable.
Santon 8 - ran all day, almost got a deflected goal, good performance again.
Raylor 7 - brave to set up the goal.
Obertan 7 - looked more confident, and actually crossed the ball a few times, even saw a first-time cross yesterday. Eek
Perch 7 - nice and tidy
Guthrie 8 - excellent range of passing and always wanted to be on the ball.
Jonas 7 - assist but even he admitted it was all down to Cisse. Still not running at defenders as much as I'd like him to, and gifted possession away in build up to their goal.
Best 6 - not on long enough to make a difference.
Ba 7 - good goal, a bit sloppy at times but got better as the game went on until he pretty much faded in the second half and hardly saw the ball.
Cisse 8 - cracking debut goal, looks good on the ball... I'll forget that header for now Big Grin
Shola 10 - held the ball up brilliantly in the last minute of the game...

i might be nit picking here but villa had 2 late chances to score clarke and the sub gardener , both of whom just ghosted through the middle neither perch or guthrie picking them up . they both put a decent shift in but against better opposition god knows ...
