Teams who've finished 5th

Tottenham 62 Feb 1st (38)
Man City 67 (41)
Everton 63 (44)
Everton 65 (37)
Tottenham 60 (39)

Those are the points achieved by the teams who finished 5th in the last 5 seasons. We're currently on 42 points and need roughly 23 more points to get (probably more as there are alot more teams competing ie chelsea, liverpool, tottenham) so I dare say we would need around the 68, 69 points mark

That means 27 more points or 9 more wins.

Winning 9 from 14 is going to be difficult imo, here are the next 14 fixtures

RE: Teams who've finished 5th

We have to hope we win against the teams down at the bottom and hope we can pick up a surprise victory over some of the big 4

Saying that Tottenham have a tough month which I can see them losing 3 and drawing one (against us)

Can't see us getting anything a White heart Lane, given that Raylor and Best are out plus Cabaye and Tiote................like.

The way we have played this season i dont see why we cant beat anyone on our day and that includes the big 4 home or away!

We will just have to take each game as it comes and see where we end up!

Biggest cliche in the book but certainly the most sensible!

RE: Teams who've finished 5th

Its true though Sal teams like us who are perhaps punching above our weight can only do that. The top 4 for instance should be going out to win every game but the likes of ourselves can win and be beat bh in any game depending on how we play.

RE: Teams who've finished 5th

Tottenham v Newcastle 2-0
Newcastle v Wolves 4-1
Newcastle v Sunderland 5-1
Arsenal v Newcastle 0-1
Newcastle v Norwich ?-?
West Brom v Newcastle 3-1
Newcastle v Liverpool 3-1
Swansea v Newcastle ?-?
Newcastle v Bolton 1-1
Chelsea v Newcastle 2-2
Newcastle v Stoke 1-2
Wigan v Newcastle 2-2
Newcastle v Man City 1-3
Everton v Newcastle 0-1

Those are last seasons results...18 points from the 12 games. Match that, and a further possible 6 from the 2 games against promoted sides and we'll have 24 points.

That's forgetting our little habit of improving or equalling last seasons results...lets hope that continues and we improve on a few more results.
