Rio Ferdinand subject of racist songs.

Is it just me who can't see any racist element of this chant ? This is the same chant probably every club in the country used to sing about their nearest rivals. Unless there is some racist history behind the song that I'm not aware of then the perceived racism seems to have eluded me.

Good grief, speech will soon become a thing of the past for fear of offending, and we'll communicate through grunts and hand signals like Gordon Brown.

As far as I'm aware burning folk on a bonfire is not colour specific. Just ask Joan of Arc and any number of witches!

The end of the song went 'burn the f***** lot of them' according to the papers. I assume that 'them' meant black people

The song's last line was always burn the f*****g lot. We used to sing it about the mackems and smoggies, they sang it about us. The lot bit related to all mackems and all smoggies, in this instance the song is about rio and anton ferdinand, how can anyone jump to saying its about all blacks. Maybe the people who are saying it is need to sort their own thoughts out before opening their gobs.

He's right yanno. I've been burned at the stake several times. And was only ever black after the inferno.

Hmmmmm same song same lyrics but different people targeted. Manure fans being racist ? Of course they're not.
