Concerts back at SJP?

Hope somethng like Iron Maiden or Metallica as there is rumours with them touring with green day and U2.

That's of the musical variety, not the former Welsh international....the following planning application is currently under consideration by Newcastle City Council:

2013/1419/01/DET Temporary change of use of stadium for staging concert over two day period, up until 11.30pm (24/25 May 2014 and 23/24 May 2015)

Newcastle United FC Saint James Park Strawberry Place Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4ST

The full application with relevant paperwork can be viewed online here. Stadium plans show a stage to be erected in the East Stand, maximising the number of existing seats available, along with pitch standing.

As yet, there's no hint of who the proposed headline acts are for either year, both dates falling on a Saturday and Sunday.

Since United's last disastrous venture into live music (Rod Stewart in 2007), the stadium of plight has had a clear run at staging gigs, although the crowds flocking there have continued to boost the economy on Tyneside.

Concerts back at SJP?

I saw Queen/Quo, The Stones and Bruce Springsteen there and they were FANTASTIC gigs, no problems at all. They followed up with Santana and Bob Dylan but I don't think they were as successful.
