Anita on for Shola

Looks like were going 451 to see out the game, with Cisse coming on around 70 mins and Obertan on around 85 mins

(Not that he's predictable but had this type out moments after seeing Anita waiting)

We're playing a 5-5-0, not a single player inside the center circle or higher up. Don't think we could sit any deeper Angry

That was a very good game of football. Even if we'd ended up losing. Both teams dug in and played some honest but tough football I think. Top marks to the referee as well. I think the way he let things go - 50/50 challenges where both players were committed - where he could have easily blown up one way or the other.

I wonder how long we can keep this going. The players certainly look like they're enjoying themselves. Perhaps they're putting themselves in the shop window for January eh?

Krul will not have a better game, still a shite kicker like Given was tho.

Good performance all round.

Gouff and Sissoko offer good protection for the full backs.

That defence is really start to look like they're becoming a proper unit, hard to argue a case for any of them being dropped for Colo at the moment

So do people really think Willo or MYM should keep Colo out..I mean they have done ok and that...but it is a no brainer for me..Colo should come back in.

Colo and MYM for me like.

I took the hoond for a walk at the final whistle, what did Pardew have to say, did he dedicate that win to Fatty and the Hobo ?

Yes, neither Willo or MYM have done anything to justify being dropped these past games, pick players on form not those who Pardew likes more

Case in point...Jonas in whatever position he can be fit into

Almost as bad

Justifying our poor displays last year by pointing to spurs poor performances following European ties

Bale single handedly won a fair few of spurts games last year, they are missing his input.

Last year we had alot of injuries, and don't forget, Cabaye was depressed Big Grin

I agree with picking players on form..if they are pretty close in terms of how good a footballer they are..in this case.. Colo and Willo..it isn't close..Colo obviously far better..so no brainer..in my opinion.

Bigger picture pal, if he does that, where is the incentive for the "lesser" players to give 100% if they know as soon as the preferred player comes back they'll be back out the team. Got to have everyone fighting for their place regardless of who they are

RE: Newcastle v Spurs - Match Thread

what about 3 at the back

...................Krul
.........MYM...willo.....Colo
Debuchy.....................Santon

Giving full backs more license to get forward as wing backs. Santon and Debuchy both offer something going forward and have the stamina for it
