pardew not content with newcastle

He is now freelancing his excuses up for other premier league managers.

"Spurs played in europe on thursday and have lost each game after they have played after a euro tie"

Cant help himself. Lol

He does realise that we won every match following our Europe games doesn't he?

You could make an argument that without our post Europe points we'd have been relegated.

But you've got to admire the cheek. Having nothing to make excuses for, for an entire two matches, he's got withdrawal symptoms and starts making them for other managers. I'm sure AVB really appreciates the unsolicited pearls of Pardews vast European experience.

And once again, a good win, and Pardew still can't help himself by behaving like an almighty wanker.

But we didn't. We lost 7 of our games following a European game and won 5 drawing another. This resulted in a points/games ratio of 1.23 (we played 14 games in Europe but there was a league game after 13 of them).

However across the season as a whole we managed 11 wins, 8 draws and 19 defeats. Taking the above haul from those we get 6 wins, 7 draws and 12 defeats which is 25 points over 25 games. Which is an average of... where's that calculator gone... erm *tap tap tap* 1 point per game.

So without Europe at that rate we would have gained 38 points which would have still seen us stay up. Just.

However extrapolating the ppgs to a season where we'd played a league game after every European match we would have finished on 46 points which would have seen us finish 11th - 9th depending on goal difference which I CBA to work out at mo as MotD is about to start.

Anyway Europe or not - probably made very little difference.

Well that'll teach me to first fact check outrageous claims when pissed up Big Grin

If you average out the form, which you did, then it didn't seem to make much difference points wise as you say, whether we were playing in Europe or not.

If we carry on as we are this season, we might be in danger of going back in there. The crisis meetings will be underway as we speak.

Damned invisible ink.

Essentially, that learn me to make claims whilst pissed up without fact checking.

And that Pardew is still a cunt.

RE: pardew not content with newcastle

The mental attitude of the manager is reflected on the field through the players I reckon. Pardew was already making excuses for these games because he was tired not the players. We got humped 3-0 at home to Man Utd and the Mackems following European games. We lost at home against West Ham and Wigan. But we also lost games at Southampton and Chelsea which we would normally anyway. We also humped Southampton 4-2 at home after travelling to the Ukraine.

RE: pardew not content with newcastle

Give modern day players a chance for an excuse to explain away shittery, they will always grasp it. Why not publicly challenge them to overcome the 'tiredness' instead? In purely physical terms, there is no difference to the 3 days between wed/sat games, and thurs/sun games.
The red dippers won the double in the early 70s using 14 players all season, and they where travelling to and from euro matches in buses that you wouldn't transport your luggage in nowadays. Spurs and chelsea weren't affected by it last season, largely because they had this brilliant, if radical idea of buying extra players to cover contingencies. It'll never catch on of cause...

The problem with Pardew's theory is, Spurs should have been out on their feet, in the second half they were all over us, we were the team who looked as if we had been on a european journey.......

My thoughts exactly, in no capacity does his theory stand up. Plus, not all the spurs players where involved on thursday night, as was the case with us when we where in it.

Only 2 or 3 were involved on the Thursday, am certain the commentator said that early on.

he would be better being truthful

and admitting that once again her shat himself at half time told the players to hang in and for once it worked thanks to poor finishing from Spurs and a top display from our keeper

He was also quoted this weekend as saying we are looking for local talent to bring through the ranks and not scouring europe anymore for youth players, looks as if Fatty has taken JFKs passport off him

is this a shift in policy or a cost cutting exercise?

Costs always come into it with him, but isn't there some new reg about having so many home raised players in the squad? By 'home' I mean British qualified players.
