For all he is deemed to be a limited player, he hasnt half done well this season.

He has taken over Jonas' mantle as being the resident pit-pony but he is also chipping in with the odd goal and assist.

He is also fast as fuck and that alone puts opposition defenders on the back foot. I did hear the commentator chuckle early on when The Gouff tried to do a knock and run past Walker, saying 'He certainly wont be beating Walker for pace' - Well I wonder if he has changed his opinion now having seen him out pace pretty much everyone in that game.

If Pardew is sticking to his new (because he certainly never used to) policy of not dropping players that are performing I can't see jonas getting back in the team for a while. you're right, Gouf does the hard work and he actually offers something going forward other than occasionally falling over and winning a free kick

He does the same job as Jonas, scores more than Jonas, it's a no-brainer

Jonas back for Norwich probably.

He has a couple of weeks more to get over it, 2 or 3 wanks a day and off to the local grab-a-granny with a pocketful of loot should get him sorted.

Much better player overall than Guti. Links up well the forwards and puts in a shift.

Marveux will never make it, doesn't do enough, has had plenty of opportunities and not grabbed his chance. Has a bit of skill, but no desire, Ben Arfa will end up like him if he carries on.

Skill is one thing, but attitude and desire are very different qualities, sadly lacking in modern football.

Gouffran puts in 100% every game.

Deserves his place on merit.

Effort is first class plus I think he is a cleverer footballer than Guti.

He is now, but I really used to love watching Jonas a couple of years back. Granted he didnt produce goals but it was great to see him running at defenders and twisting them all over the place.

Didnt Brassy once compare him to Ronaldo? Big Grin

Indeed. All did their bit. There's not many, if any at all, players who I've got any kind of issue with over last few years.

the difference is the promotion team had steel and a determination on the pitch that was there for all to see, Nolan, Smith and Barton all shouting at the rest to man up

the current squad have capitulated on a few occasions and when we needed someone to stand and get them going , no-one came forward

Barton only played 15 games during that promotion season .
