Vincent Tan/Malky Mackay/Palace

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has taken the ultimate revenge on Malky Mackay.

Former Bluebirds boss Mackay had been expected to take charge at Crystal Palace – but that job offer was withdrawn yesterday.

The Eagles’ U-turn came after Cardiff submitted a dossier to the FA questioning Mackay’s conduct during his reign.

Mirror Sport understands the document also names Palace director of football Iain Moody, who worked with Mackay at the Welsh club.

Several top agents and lawyers are also mentioned in the papers, while it is understood Tan has refused to pay commission to agents on almost all of the deals done under Mackay.

Cardiff have questioned the level of fees, commission and role of agents in several transfers during his two years as manager, during which the team won promotion to the top flight for the first time since 1962.

Mirror Sport understands the FA have received the dossier, which allegedly also contains evidence of racist, sexist, and homophobic texts and emails. The FA said last night: “We have no comment to make.”

It is understood they are now likely to have to investigate the claims presented by Cardiff.

City are set to pursue legal action against Palace and Moody in the “Spygate” case. The Eagles were fined £10,000 by the Premier League last week after it was alleged Moody got the Cardiff line-up before last season’s relegation clash with his ex-club.

The dossier and allegations appear to have persuaded Palace co-chairman Steve Parish to put on hold the appointment of a manager.

Mackay, who has strenuously denied any wrongdoing, had been offered a three-year contract following his sacking by City in December.

In the bitter fall-out from that, Mackay launched a £7.5million legal claim against the club.

But he dropped it and reached a settlement with owner Tan, a Malaysian tycoon, making a statement apologising “without reservation” for any offence he may have caused.

Parish was expecting to appoint Mackay as successor to Tony Pulis

Glenn Hoddle has turned down the chance to be Palace boss, saying he was flattered but wanted to stay at QPR. Palace may go back to former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood.

Moody is now set to resign.

Mirror Sport contacted lawyers and agents representing Cardiff, Tan and Mackay for comment, but none responded.

It's all a bit crazy. Turns out Tan isn't as daft as the media made him out to be. Some of Mckays alleged texts were shocking though

Timed perfectly by Tan, just when contracts were to be signed.

Moody has resigned.

I'm guessing what's texted to and from a company owned phone.....the boss has a look at.

Dish best served cold etc etc. Tan clearly has had his hands on this for a while, just waiting for McKay to apply for a job. I always wondered why McKay published an unequivocal apology at the meeting to settle terms, after what had gone on before it.
