'TOWNSEND FEE AGREED'

Newcastle are close to signing Andros Townsend from Tottenham after the clubs agreed a compromise over the fee for the England winger, according to The Guardian.

Sky sources revealed earlier today that Newcastle, along with Watford, were still interested in Townsend but were struggling to match Spurs’ valuation, believed to be £14million.

However, the Guardian report Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has intervened to request his club accept Newcastle’s lower bid – understood to be somewhere in the middle of the two clubs’ valuations.

The news has now left the door open for Townsend to finally complete his move away from White Hart Lane, with the 24-year-old expected to finalise his move to the North East in the next 48 hours.

Its on skysports....

Until he's holding the shirt, I'll suspend judgement.

RE: Townsend

Good signing, £12m still a bit steep but fuckit if he helps keep us up it is worth every penny, there are question marks over his consistency but I reckon that's a confidence issue, don't think he felt "loved" at spurs hopefully he can fit in with our lot,...and let's face it, can he possibly be any worse than Thauvin?

A decent winger needs a decent centre forward.

Can someone explain to Willo that Perez really isn't an out and out forward and he isn't the answer to our lack of goal scoring. Im beginning to think he is related to Perez.

Whilst I do think Mitro will come good, (he netted 36 times last season) we simply dont have the time to wait for him to find his goal scoring touch.

Out of what we have available he is the best, should we sign a new striker Perez would play in gini's position on that graphic i posted

Get Remy in on loan, then in the summer go and sign a long term striker.

Colback

Shelvey

Sissoko Townsend

Wiji

Take Sissoko out of the equation and we might have a decent chance.

RE: Townsend

Sissoko is a cracking player when he feels like it.

If we could somehow find out what motivates him, then we might get some consistency.

He has at times been unstoppable, but nowhere near regularly enough.

So would you drop Gini for Perez then, considering their goal tallies this season, I can only conlcude you have lost your marbles.

Sisoko has only one style of play.....some games suit him, some don't

Running in a straight line with pace and power is only gonna get its rewards occasionally

He has set up a fair amount of goals with his passes as well.

Just saying he is decent we just don't seem able to convince him to out a shift in every week.
