*refuses to dream*
Even if this doesn't come off, I'd hope they'd come down if only to give the place a lick of paint.
Like I said to a mate yesterday, even though all these signs are promising, I refuse to start pulling my plums until I see the new owner in front of the press holding a scarf above his head on the pitch at SJP.

So is this setting up of Monochrome Holdings something that would be done in the advanced stages of a deal, or is this something that could be set up at anytime and it doesn't matter if it gets used or not?

We don't tend to form them until the later stages as its a bit of arse to scrub them off again. Also some clients don't like to be named as directors of too many companies. If a deal doesn't go ahead they might never use that vehicle but it shows up on their Companies House record.
Its not the first thing you'd do when buying a company, and would suggest they are some way down the line if indeed the purpose of the company is what we think it is.

Yep, that’s my position.

It's like playing a detective game. The signs usually get cleaned every year though but with all the other 'evidence', things appear cautiously optimistic.

All very interesting I will not believe it has happened until we have proof that the deal is signed sealed and delivered. There was a song with those lyrics in it can't remember who sang it. Was it Stevie Wonder?

Keep reading stories saying Mike Ashley still waiting to receive a bid from the Sheikh. Am I reading this all wrong? If they've signed an agreement for £350 million, and once the Premier League checks are complete, and everything is in order, does that original agreed £350 million not just get paid over to Mike Ashley and Monochrome get the shares transferred over in some fashion?
Am I not getting the point of this or something??
Journalists make it up as they go along Dean so contradict themselves left right and centre. We will find out in a few weeks the real craic just have to be patient and keep fingers crossed.

So frustrating this, it seems like the real deal this time, but with Ashley being involved, you can see him ruining the deal by demanding free sports direct advertisements for life, asking for an extra £50 million or something daft like that. Its gonna be devastating if this doesn't come off, Benitez will surely be off, transfers will be budget buys and relegation and a mass exodus will surely follow. Doom and gloom I know, but I honestly see that happening.

I'm not bothering with season tickets, maybe when my son is older if he's into football, but I enjoy watching it on TV, finishing one match then flicking channels and watching another one. Lost the excitement going to matches from the Sourmess years, i couldn't even give my tickets away when I was away at work.
What sort of spending could we be looking at, top end, if the takeover goes ahead with regards to FIFA fair play? Can see Man City offloading some players to us maybe.

I'm still sceptical about it. It does seem more credible than other times, and rumours suggest it's gone a lot further further than previous takeovers going further than the one before it. But maybe it had to be like that to fool people. If the standard amount of going furtherness was used maybe it wouldn't have been enough to surpass the increased scepticism. And cynicism.
Mind next season's takeover drama is going to have to actually happen, club sold, and then somehow end up back in Ashley's hands because if this season's doesn't come off even the most optimistic fan will be as sceptical as fuck.
