Seems a bit of a gamble....playing wise one of the best centre backs I seen ....he even made Bramble look OK alongside him....just couldn't keep fit.

RE: Woodgate new boro boss

obviously i was going to the games then and even when we were attacking i would be fascinated with woodgate constantly signalling to the other defenders when to move out and when to drop back, just always seemed in control, and had an air of authority,............ natural leader i suppose, wish him well.

Woodgate new boro boss

Such a terrible shame he could never play more than 5 or 6 games in a row before being injured. What might have been, as so often with our lot.

Certainly the best CB we ever had in my days. On his day he was streets ahead of every CB in the country. Shame he was made of glass.

Possibly as a manager he’s a bit (as you say) shitgate. But fuck me what a player he was.

I just wish we had a CB with half the positional sense of him. Instead we have the tub-thumping, barrel chested Jamaal with his dubious concentration skills, the mobility of Stephen Hawkings and the positional awareness of (ahem) Titus Bramble.

Digression aside, yeah it seems his management skills are not yet honed.

Oh Woodgate was the finest centre half of his generation.

If it wasn’t for injuries....

man- management skills perhaps not cutting it.....................lampy at chelski also possibly got that gig too soon, football management generally not easy.....both outstanding players from a young age, but becoming great managers is a different story
