RE: Every single time...

I don’t need to read that to know it’s full of lies, lies and more lies. A piece about Mike Ashley, written by Martin Samuel in the Daily Mail.

RE: Every single time...

Aye but even though its a proven liar being interviewed by mackem loving Samuel - he's squirming

He's wriggling, he's hitting out, he's rattled as fuck

These boycotts have to happen - him saying he sees himself owning this club forever are a clear indication that he wants to smooth things over - it's like being bombed out by a lush lass but claiming you were going to finish her anyway - Outwardly playing the game but inside he's in pieces

At the very least the boycotts might see him run the club in a different manner until a genuine buyer comes along

RE: Every single time...

ive always known he had no intention of selling,....why would he want to?

the joelinton signing, (a player benitez didnt want) was a good riddance rafa fuck off gesture.................. also mike wanting to be seen as if he was actually entertaining these potential buyers has merely been a smokescreen created so as to ship benitez out with the minimum of fuss.

basically same old Mike Ashley, always thinking, always lying, always taking the piss out of the fans...............and ALWAYS getting away with it. Rolleyes

RE: Every single time...

From Caulkin's Twitter

Quote:That Mike Ashley interview is desperately and depressingly familiar; the self-pitying, the delusion, the contradictions and the inconsistency. It’s always this way. The club says nothing and it’s terrible and then when the owner does speak it’s actually worse.

Where do you start with it? Benitez took the “soft option” to leave? He didn’t take the soft option to manage Newcastle when they were threatened by relegation, or to stay in the Championship. He left because he was out of contract & didn’t want to stay for more of the same.

Joelinton? Benitez didn’t think he was worth that fee. But if that money was there, allow him to spend it on his own targets. He’s the manager. He’s the man who won the Champions League. If Ashley wanted to put his own money in, great. Why not use it on the training ground?

Every time with Rafa it was impossible – there was always another thing, and the next thing and the next thing. Yes. Good managers don’t just settle. They push for more. They push for excellence. “I’m not a football expert,” Ashley says. No, but he employed one & now he’s gone.

On and on it goes. Can’t compete with Tottenham’s £45m a season shirt deal? Well, no. But as @bigchrisholt has repeatedly pointed out (this is his graphic), Nufc’s commercial income has flatlined over Ashley’s tenure. Look at the comparison with Spurs.

I could say to Lee Charnley, our managing director, I’ll have £10m, £12m. But a good custodian will make every penny count. No interest, no repayments. In 2017/18, Newcastle repaid a short-term loan of £33m to Ashley. Short-term, yes. But still a repayment.

We’ve seen and heard it all before. Each time he talks, he admits to making mistakes while making them all over again. “I probably shouldn’t own a football club,” he says. That’s definitely a concept to get behind.

It’s the same old shit that he spouts he couldn’t care less about the club and the fans. It’s just a cash cow for him always has been and as long as he remains it always will be.

Sadly i think we will be a "cash cow" for any new owner as well. There are very few club owners at this level who "care about club and fans". The spreadsheet will always trump the teamsheet in most cases.

Football is a business and for the vast majority of clubs, the success the fans want comes at a cost the owners arent prepared to pay, and sadly its the owners money.

RE: Every single time...

If we keep United and keep in the Premiership it will get better and quicker so stop whining. We've lost ground due to previous owners methods of financing and creaming money and Ashley making a balls of things but it's turning around, touch wood. As we have a big stadium and big fan base we will start overtaking a lot of other teams now we are on a more level playing field now.

£60mil on two players in 6 months with a high probability a couple more quality signings next week expected ready to take on Premier league teams next season unlike Sunderland playing 2 leagues down haha, so people should be relatively content.

It's good to hear from him though even if a lot of it is BS!

RE: Every single time...

SD are only paying £2M from next year Jinky. Looks to me like they only paid £1M for the last couple of years. Angry

“In the current and prior year we have in the ordinary course of business been charged £1million per season for advertising rights whilst Newcastle United are in the Premier League, this is covered in the related party note in the financial statements."

“For the football season beginning in August 2019 the Sports Direct Group will be charged £2million for the advertising rights. Sports Direct still considers this to be value for its shareholders.”

Hes bad. But to say hes the worst?

Ask fans of Bury what they think. They could be wound up next week.

Or fans of Darlington or York City. Or Blackburn.

I cant stand him but there are worse. Far worse
